Guided tour by Dolly. Intense and super rewarding. Right in the heart of Old Delhi, the real India. With very interesting taste discovery. I recommend.

We had a great first day in Delhi with Dolly as our ( female) guide, we got a good mixture of sightseeing, culture & delicious specialities from India in this ( more than )three hours. We also got a good first idea how to behave as a woman in this, how it feels ,very men dominated country. And the most important part, it was lots of fun!

This tour was fantastic and offered a wonderful mix of experiences. Dolly, our guide, was exceptional, incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and welcoming. She taught me so much about the different temples and religions in Delhi, and I loved having the chance to try so many local dishes some I had never heard of before, but will definitely be having again! As a solo female traveler, I felt completely comfortable and well looked after, which allowed me to fully relax and enjoy the experience. I would highly recommend this tour.

I booked this tour for a same day experience after seeing a review from the previous day and it still exceeded my expectations. Dolly, our tour guide, was excellent. She was so knowledgeable about the history of the temples and the customs of the religious communities. She carefully and respectfully showed us these spaces (ones we couldn’t find ourselves) and even shared their stories within like the community kitchen at the Gurudwara sis ganj saheb and the bird sanctuary at Digamber lal jain temple. We also went to the Fatehpuri Mosque where Dolly shared about the architecture and the history of the building. She was thoughtful too: since we had to take our shoes off at each temple she offered us wipes for our feet before we put our shoes back on and hand sanitizer. Then, we went to the Chandni Chowk. Dolly continued sharing the history, and culture significance of the different goods within the market while weaving effortlessly through the chaotic bustle. She took us down the narrow market lanes and led us to the Naughara (Nine Beautiful Doors) which was the brief quiet reprieve we needed from the busyness. Of course this tour had food too! We were asked if we had any food allergies to begin with which was a thoughtful touch. We had many great bites including Chole Bhature, nagori chai, samosas, paneer pakora, and lassi. We also went to the Khari Baoli spice market (there are a lot of peppers and our masks helped!) which was incredible. Dolly took care of everything: she ordered food and cleared the bill at each stall. She shared the ingredients in each dish and answers any questions we had which made me feel most confident in enjoying the food and not worrying about quality. Our tour officially ended with a rickshaw ride back to our starting point but Dolly was thoughtful making sure we had transportation to our next location. She also asked to make sure we shared when we were back at our hotel for the evening. In case it’s not clear, Dolly’s English was impeccable, and she was very warm. I was so honored that I was able to meet her for this tour and I highly recommend this experience with THE LOST COMPASS. I’m sure other tours from the same company would be equally as wonderful.

The walk was exactly what I hoped for and perhaps even exceeded my expectations. I booked this tour to finally stretch my legs after a week in business hotels and to experience /see something of the colourful Delhi that the city is so famous for. Not the big monuments, but a glimpse into everyday life. Dolly is a young lady full of energy and took me to places of worship, to quiet alleys and colourful bazaars. We went to places that I could/would not have visited myself and you feel that she belongs to these places. Dolly shares her outstanding knowledge in a fun, accessible way through stories. Between visits, she surprised me with tasty snacks. Also a huge pro, is that she stays away from pushing towards shops. On a next trip to Delhi, I would certainly look for an excursion with this company again.

We had an amazing time. Our two tour guides were so friendly and brought us to so many beautiful places on our walking tour. They also brought us to the best food spots. Everything was so tasty and we were full going home. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing tour of Old Dehli. As we did not have a lot of time in Dehli, this tour was perfect as we got to visit temples and bazaars while also getting to try new foods. We would not have been able to visit Old Delhi without a guide and our guide Parul was excellent.

This tour was the perfect balance of history, food, spiritual calm, and the full Old Delhi atmosphere. Our guide, Dolly, made us feel completely at ease. She led us through peaceful temples, introduced us to delicious street food, and guided us through the vibrant back lanes of the bazaars. The best tours I’ve ever been on.
