Go beyond the show & experience what Argentine Tango truly is.
First, at a local, historical café, enjoy traditional Argentine fare, including Tortilla (our frittata), empanadas, Argentine beef (or vegetarian option!) with perhaps a glass of our most famous export, red wine. While savouring the flavors, you’ll learn the history & culture of tango. Food & drink at the cafe IS included in tour price.
You'll then be taken to a nearby Milonga (tango dance hall) to be immersed in the local tango scene, learning how this sensual dance is truly experienced. At the end of the evening, you're taken back to your place of stay. Note that food & drinks at the milonga are NOT included in tour price.

We start with a pickup of around 7pm, depending on the day, with our first stop at a ‘cafe notable’ (historical cafe/bar) . Here we’ll enjoy some traditional Argentine fare, including: - Picada (charcuterie) - Tortilla (this version of the frittata is originally an import of the Spanish immigrants) - Empanadas - the famous Argentine Beef! - Vegetarian options are plentiful - Perhaps a glass of the country’s most famous export - Malbec (red wine) Note: All Food plus 1 drink per person at the cafe notable are included in the tour price. While enjoying all the tastes, you’ll learn the history & culture of tango: from its beginnings when early Eurpoean immigrants first arrived here - to its peak in the 40s when tango orchestras played as far as Hollywood - to going underground in the 70’s due to politics - to tango now, a blend of traditonal & ‘nuevo’ styles, as dancers from abroad influence Argentina’s signature dance
Then we’re off to a nearby Milonga (tango dance hall) where we can relax comfortably & enjoy the scene. The dance is just one aspect of tango culture, albeit an extremely beautiful one. The music, the ambience, & the social etiquette are all fascinating to experience while inside the milonga. As an active member of the local tango scene, I'll be able to share the stories & secrets of this beautiful dance, allowing you to dive deeply into this fascinating aspect of Argentine culture. We will be choosing from a short list of high quality Milongas that will give you a very good sense of the beautiful tradition of Tango. Which one we go to will depend on on the day, as the Milonga schedule varies day to day. Then we'll transport you back to your abode, where you can relive the memories of this remarkable night!

Tracey gave us a fabulous insight into the real tango scene in BA. The tradition and the positive impact tango has on those that love it was clear to see. A must as part of the overall BA experience.

Tracy arranged for a lovely, thoughtful night for us to learn about the history and culture of tango. She is very passionate and knowledgeable about tango, which enhanced the experience. We had a nice dinner and went to a local milonga that was having a live band perform. The band was fantastic and we enjoyed seeing local tango enthusiasts do what they love!

What a fabulous evening of dinner and tango with Tracy! As tourists we never would have been able to have this glimpse into the authentic world of Tango on our own. We enjoyed every minute of the evening - from the personal pick up from our hotel, to the dinner, and best of all, to the Milonga to watch tango. Tracy's knowledge and passion for Tango is amazing, and we felt privileged to be amongst locals doing something they so love and are proud of. We highly recommend doing this tour!

We had a fabulous evening of dining and dancing, and it all would have been impossible for us without The guidance of our host, Tracy. She is passionate about tango and Buenos Aires, and that made a huge difference - she loves introducing novices and visitors to her passions, and it shows! She also tailored the evening to take us to the exact experiences we requested, because she took the time and care to get to know us and our particular hopes for the evening. The experience could not have been any better!

My husband & I would never have discovered on our own the historical cafe that Tracy took us to. The food was great & filling! A true Argentine experience. Then, going to the Milonga was a bit like entering a secret world. Seeing all ages & levels dancing together was very inspiring. We had gone to a tango show a few nights earlier & this felt like we were seeing more of ‘the real thing’. Thanks Tracy for taking us deeper into Buenos Aires than we could have done on our own.
