What To Expect
Embark on an immersive escape room adventure set on the edge of Edinburgh's old surgical district. Descend into a world of grave robbery, mystery, and malpractice as you enter the basement study of a 19th-century anatomist to investigate reports of a mysterious crime... The year is 1829 and the city is a leading center for medical learning. Anatomical teaching relies on fresh 'cadavers' which are always in short supply. Grave robbery is rife and there have even been cases of murder for dissection. You have just one hour to locate Dr. Malcolm's journal before he returns from lecturing at the nearby Surgeons' Hall, and he won't take kindly to uninvited guests. A fun, thrilling activity for groups of 2-8 people, Ages 12+. Your team must work together to solve the puzzles and uncover the mystery. See, touch and even smell Edinburgh's macabre past! Esacape The Past are located at BF01, 25 Nicolson Square, just a 5 minute walk from the royal mile. The activity lasts approximately 1 hour and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

5.00Having never done an escape room before so had no idea what I was letting myself in for. We was a family of six aging from 72-13. We all had a great time. Ore games master was Ronak .Ronak was very informative and got into character as soon as we entered the room. We all come away waning to do another one.

5.00Genuinely one of the most extraordinary escape room experiences I’ve ever had. A huge highlight of the experience was Beth, who accompanied us throughout. She played the role of the maid brilliantly, adding just the right amount of tension, atmosphere, and theatrical flair. Her presence made the whole environment even more unsettling and immersive. Whenever we found ourselves getting stubborn over a particular puzzle, she nudged us in the right direction in a very natural and in-character way, which kept things flowing without breaking the mood.

5.00The anatomist is a really fun escape room with logical puzzles that actually add storytelling to the whole experience. Beth was an amazing games master which added an extra fun layer to the whole experience.

5.00Arranged this as a 13th birthday party for my daughter and her friends. It was a little tricky for them but not to the point of them not enjoying it and they were able to ask for clues. They all really enjoyed it and would be keen to do it again with hopefully a bit more success!
