Cape Coast Castle
The Cape Coast Castle is one of the biggest castles still standing in Ghana today which was constructed by European forces, On a portion of the Gold Coast that subsequently came to be known as the Cape Coast, it all started as a Portuguese trade lodge built in 1555. The Swedish Africa Company built a permanent wooden stronghold in 1653 to facilitate the trading of gold and lumber after Sweden conquered the Cape Coast. The regional office of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board is located there, and it is currently a historical museum with a gift shop selling Ghanaian arts and crafts.
Elmina Castle
So Jorge da Mina (St. George of the Mine) was the name given to Elmina Castle by the Portuguese in 1482 when they erected it in Elmina, Ghana (formerly the Gold Coast). Elmina and Elmina Castle is the oldest European structure still standing below the Sahara because it was the first trading post ever constructed on the Gulf of Guinea. It was initially founded as a trading colony but eventually developed into one of the most significant sites along the path of the Atlantic slave trade. A significant portion of Werner Herzog's 1987 drama film "Cobra Verde" was filmed at Elmina Castle, which is now a well-known historical landmark. It serves as a stark reminder of the history of the slave trade and is a very sought-after destination for African American travelers hoping to connect with their heritage.

The journey is long and the road construction impacts the normal timeframe. At the same time, our Tour Guide and driver, Geo Fred was AMAZING! He had the four of us sharing information about our Ghana choice, teaching us and using our Ghanaian names based on day of birth-as a way of introductions, and teaching and expecting us to use basic Ghanaian terms. He was very considerate of our needs and did a great job of including “ strangers, “ in all aspects of the experience,”so that we felt comfortable asking questions and spending time together. Geo Fred is truly an asset to your team, and because of his social skills, his willingness to embrace tough conversations, and his compassion made the experience Memorable, Thought Provoking and Emotional! Thank You

My experience was a memorable one from get go. Kwame(we cool) covered all basis. Kwame is a tour guide of "PAR EXCELLENCE". The 5 member visiting team became family. Our touring team: 1 Afican America, 1 Caribbean, 3 Burkinabe, our tour was " SPICY" all the way. The hike above the rain forest was a welcoming challenge, that's all I'll express here, visit me in Trinidad & Tobago (T&T) if you want to know more. TIP: kindly honor the on site guides, they do an excellent job especially those on the castles.

My partner and I had a memorable, sobering, and ultimately thought provoking experience visiting the castles and the forest. The company was prompt and thorough in communicating a pickup location that wasn’t on the list but proved to be no problem for them. After picking up the other attendees we headed towards the forest. Moses, our guide, explained the history of Ghana and what we saw on the road as well. His relationships with tour guides, authorities, and locals made the trip better. I recommend this excursion to everyone.

I had a great experience in this tour! The tour guide, Emmanuel, was extremely friendly, fun and patient. Also, the company manager, George, was very professional and handled really well a situation that was out of his control. Because of a storm and maintenance service on the road to Cape Coast, we got stuck in an insane traffic jam, which prevented us from reaching the third site of the tour on the planned time. Even though the delay was not their fault, George arranged a customized package for me the next day, combining the site that I had missed with another site I wanted to visit and offered me an important discount, just to ensure that I was able to visit all the places I had planned to see in that region. I really appreciated their flexibility and ability to deal with unpredicted factors during the tour.

Absolutely amazing experience. Moses, our tour guide, was brilliant. So friendly and accommodating. He was also incredibly knowledgeable. The Kakum National Park was beautiful and the castles were sobering. Our lunch spot was a fantastic restaurant overlooking the ocean. What more could you ask for? Incredible!
