In the southern part of Poland, near to the Slovakian border, there is one of the most beautiful places in the country. The mountain ranges of Pieniny captivate with beautiful scenery of limestone rocks. A uniqueness of the nature of that area was a reason of establish Pieniny National Park. One of the biggest attractions of this region is the picturesque rafting of the Dunajec River Gorge.

What To Expect
Along the right bank of the Dunajec River, almost entirely on the Slovakian side, there is a cycling route named Pienińska Road. The tour trail starts in Szczawnica. The visitors are welcomed with a skyline of mountain peaks with the Three Crowns Massif. After about an hour of cycling there is possible to see one of the most famous sacred buildings in Pieniny. The Red Monastery is located in the St. Anthony's Valley, just 200 metres from the Slovakian harbor of rafting. There is not far away to Sromowce Niżne where there is a beginning of two-hour rafting on the Dunajec River Gorge. This is the best way to reach the centre of the Pieniny National Park. The rafting route can be realised by rafting boat or two-person kayaks so- called canoes. The qualified instructors watch over the safety of the participants. The crossing of Dunajec River Gorge ends in Szczawnica where the visitors can taste the local mineral waters and the best ice cream in Podhale region.

5.00We had a great tour of the Dunajec River Gorge thanks to Poland Active Day Tours! We were picked up and greeted right on time by Maciej in Krakow. It was a scenic 2 hour ride to Southern Poland with Maciej pointing out various points of interest and stopping at a beautiful . We started with an easy 8 mile + ride along side the Dunajec river through the river gorge. We then got on a raft and paddled back down the river. What a great time! Thanks Maciej and Poland Active Day Tours!!

5.00This was a fantastic adventure! Our guide Mathew picked us up from our hotel. He was very nice, very knowledgeable, and spoke English well. We learned so much from him! The biking trail along the river was peaceful and not too difficult, but we did get a good workout in, and our children loved the rafting. The perfect day ended with a lovely lunch, and then Mathew took us to the best ice cream store before we headed back to the hotel. A wonderful experience, and great value for the cost!
