Leo was a very kind and patient guide. I rolled my ankle pretty bad just before reaching Don Carlos' house. Embarrassing for me because it was on even pavement, I simply dropped my guard and then wham it happened :( Leo took care of me and I highly appreciate it. Doña Consuelo's cooking was amazing and both hosts demonstrated the upmost hospitality. Their house was tranquil and I enjoyed learning about the coffee making process. The hidden waterfall was beautiful and powerful. I recommend for anyone! Overall moderate hike and very doable.

I did a solo-day with Leo from Santa Marta to Minca: 1200 meters climb over 20 km in 4.5 hours. I enjoyed incredibly with him. I am a Biologist and I can say that he is knowledgeable of the nature and particularly of the birds of the zone. If you enjoy birds, going with Leo will guarantee that you will learn a lot of them. He is also very humble, in couple of opportunities he mentioned that he was not good at expressing himself, I will argue quite the contrary; his humble personality and simple speech makes him a great guide. He is also strong like an ox. I am a strong and fast hiker and I could barely keep his pace uphill, I had no chance of keeping his pace downhill. It is amazing the skill that he has downhill. He would do great in a mountain race. Disclaimer, I asked Leo to go fast because I also wanted to have a physical challenge. He mentioned that he normally takes double the time for our hike. Thus, do not worry about the speed, but the hike is certainly challenging. We did the whole trip in Spanish, I cannot speak for his ability to be a good guide in English. Overall, I will recommend him. I am already planning to do the 3 day trip with him next year at the Sierra.

If you are looking for an alternative for "the lost city hike" look no further. This is an off the beaten path experience and Leo the guide is the best you can ask for. We did the 2 day hike. For the most part it's moderate with a steep part towards the end of it. We got to stay with a wonderful family that cooked for us delicious food and let us stay the night at their farm. The accomodation is basic but we got our own room and managed to get a good night sleep Leo will also help you take those Instagram photos u always wanted - he knows a lot of phone camera tricks! It's an experience you don't want to miss. I would recommend being in a good shape and let Leo lead the way.

We had an amazing experience in our 2-day hike with Leo. There were so many beautiful landscapes along the route and the waterfall was the cherry on top! We also enjoyed spending time with the coffee grower family who hosted us in their farm and taught us about the coffee harvesting and drying processes. Leo is a very knowledgeable guide, very kind and motivating through the hardest part of the hike. I fully recommend this experience. We hope to do a second tour with Leo in the future!

We did the 2 day trek through Sierra Nevada with Leo. Difficult to describe how many different impressions we got to enjoy! Leo is extremely knowledgeable about nature and has the incredible skill to spot even the smallest animal hidden to a layman. To me, it felt as if l was walking with a friend :) the passion and authenticity with which Leo runs his business is a true pleasure! The trek itself is a peaceful walk through nature. I felt happily immersed in green, green and well ... green :)
