This tour led by April and Alex was such fun. As a lifelong fan of The Sound of Music I enjoyed every minute of it, but was also really pleased to see people who barely knew the story also enjoying themselves. The tour took us to a number of filming locations, helped us separate fact from fiction and even treated us to a really informative documentary on the return journey to Salzburg. We all loved the singing on the coach beautifully led by April who really made this such a fantastic experience.

What a fantastic afternoon with Mitch (? or was it Max) our fabulous guide and a fantastic bus driver Evo (?). We saw where the lake scene and back of the estate were filmed with a walk around part of the lake for great views. Another stop was at the new site of the gazebo and the tree-lines lane where the children skipped and played. We had a drive by of the Abbey and the estate used for the front of the Von Trapp home before heading to Mondsee for time to see the cathedral, Basilika St. Michael and walk about the village. Heading back to Salzburg, we had another picturesque drive through the Slazkammergut (lake district). We ended our tour at Mirabell Gardens where several scenes of the children singing in the park were filmed. Do, a deer 🎶🎶… We had a great time visiting our sites, taking pictures and singing along with music from the movie. I can highly recommend Panorama Tours after 2 back-to-back tours in one day. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and spoke great English. We were so lucky with beautiful weather too!

Simon was a brilliant tour guide - informative and funny. We stopped at beautiful places and learnt a lot about the making of the film. Songs on the coach were hilarious and a short documentary whilst on the motorway on way back was also interesting. Overall this was money well spent!

A friend we were traveling with wanted to do this tour and while I love “The Sound of Music”, I thought it would be gimmicky, but went along anyways. I have to say, it was perhaps the most enjoyable tour I’ve been on, and I’ve been on a lot of tours. The guide, whose name I don’t recall – a lady from Australia, was amazing. She made the tour. It was a lot of fun with her explanations, sense of humor and the sing-a-longs. Even the bus driver got into the act by rolling around the roundabouts at the appropriate times in a couple of songs or tooting the horn at the right time. Almost everyone on the bus was either laughing or singing much of the time. The tour takes you to a lake where you can get out and go for an approx. 5-minute walk to take a picture of the lake where some of the scenes were filmed. The next stop was where the Gazebo now sits. This was again a walk for about 5 minutes and then an approx. 20-minute break to take more pictures or for a bathroom break. The scenery in this area was amazingly beautiful. The next stop was at the Mondsee to see the church where the wedding took place. We had about an hour’s stop to visit the church, get a quick snack and to walk around a bit. On the way back, we watched a short documentary on the filming of Sound of Music and had another sing-along. The last stop was back where we started and then the guide took us into Mirabell Gardens and explained where the Do-Re-Me song was filmed. All in all, it was a great tour, and I am very glad we went.

The orignal sounds of music tour was fabulous!!! Kylie was our guide who was attentive and incredibly knowledgeable. We go to visit 4 filming locations along with learning about how they made the movie and the original family. What a fantastic experience. 10/10 would definitely recommend

What a great and entertaining morning it was on the original Sound of Music tour. Our guide Mitch was a great storyteller and delivered the information in a very humourous way. He also kept his ducks (i.e. all 50 of us or so) lined up in a row, so the tour started on time and finished on time as well. We learned a lot of things we did not know about with regards to the movie and to the story of the Von Trapp family. All in all it was a great experience lots of fun and we highly recommend this tour.

Its great fun, especially singing along to the songs.Tour guide Kylie was brilliant. The only disappointment was that we weren't able to stop and take photos of the Abbey. We understand that nuns live there so getting close was not possible. However,it would have been lovely.
