The Real Tour of Communism will take you through all of the major aspects regarding the life under communist rule in Romania which lasted officially from 1948 to 1989.
The Communism era was marked by the dictator Nicolae Ceausescu who ruled Romania for most of this period (1965-1989).
We will discover the landmarks of the Communist era to understand how the city's architecture was influenced and changed for ever. But also the former locations of the Secret Police where Romanians were interrogated and tortured too.
The tour ends in the Revolution Square where Nicolae Ceausescu had his last speech on Dec 21st 1989 few days before he was executed together with his wife.

5.00This was a phenomenal tour! Andreea did a great job checking in the day before, suggesting we wear warm clothing and confirming where we would be meeting up and when. The walking tour was incredibly insightful, and the fact that she had lived through the remaining days of communism, and had done her own research to share with the group, made it even more amazing. Obviously this was a very tragic time for Romania, and she was incredibly diplomatic about sharing the struggles. She was also very patient with the questions from the group. I'd recommend this tour to anyone

5.00This is a great tour. Super well organized. Daniela was our hide. She explained the history very well, with the right level of detail as well as the big picture points, connecting the past with relevant current events whenever needed. The description of life under communism was very well balanced. There is a snack and coffee and restroom break half way through. Highly recommend!

5.00Really interesting and immersive experience on communism and what remains of it today, is the first activity I booked in Bucharest and as a history and communism enthusiast I was not disappointed at all! I strongly recommend to those interested in these issues but also to those who want to immerse themselves more in the culture of the city and the country. 5.00This walking tour gives you an accurate account of the history of communism in Bucharest. We learned about the times before WW2 and up to the fall of communism in 1989. The tour was well explained and took us through the city where some major events took place.

5.00Wonderful tour. Mihai did a great job explaining much of the history of this era, particularly about the revolution. This tour was the highlight of our visit to Bucharest. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to understand contemporary Romanian history.
