Maria was great, lovely personality & very knowledgeable about foods history & Tromsø.... We collected some of the ingredients from local artesan shops with a couple of authentic tastings. Then a private lunch in a lovely old building / restaurant Great selection of fish, meats & cheeses - all very well explained. Plenty of food. Highly recommend!

This experience is great. There is not much walking involved (we walked a bit in town, went to a fish shop and a butcher's, and visited an art gallery) but more of a discovery of Norway through food and history, at a table. We ended up in a house not far from downtown where Gabriela had a table set for us, and served us different traditional foods: fish (salmon, smoked salmon, herring?), cured meats (lamb and pork), as well as brown cheeses and lefse. We also tried cured reindeer and whale. There was thin crispy flatbread (really delicious) and we also tried ligonberry jam and cloudberry jam, with the meat and the cheeses/lefse. We were 8 guest in total and it was nice to be able to talk to each other whilst we were tasting these Norwegian foods. We weren't in a noisy environment, and it was interesting to see where everyone was coming from, and what their experience of Norway had been so far. I definitely recommend this experience if you are a foodie and if it's your first time in Norway (which was my case, on both counts!). After finishing the tastings, most of us went to the supermarket nearby to buy some of the jams and some flat bread.

  • Learn about town and food traditions from a local - doesn't get any better than this!

It was my last day in town and what a wonderful experience! The small group tasting of foods I hadn't eaten during my stay. Insights about holiday traditions and more. After walking around town and sampling at some places, we finished in a small local private room where we could interact with each other and our tour guide freely. I absolutely loved this event and hope you choose to give it a try! Not what I was thinking it might be but absolutely delicious and delightful none the less!

really great tour where we were able to taste several unique items from Norway. Definitely won’t be hungry at the end of this tour. We enjoyed the walk around town to learn about various places to purchase good meats and cheeses and food items. while learning a little bit about the city. The tour completes with a wonderful meal getting a chance to talk and share with one another. We returned to the area the next day and revisited many of the shops.

This was an original tour with art and food experience. The two young ladies were good. The youngest very good in English. Both were good mediators of the history of the city and the area. I would recommend this to friends and acquaintances who are going to Tromsø. The only thing I missed was a visit inside the cathedral. Hilsen Oddveig 78 years.

The experience was awesome! The guide, David, was super sweet and took his time to explain everything and to answer every question. Wholesome trip through Tromso. I recommend doing this food tour at the beginning of your stay in Tromso. This way you can get useful information about the best food places in town!

Informative and useful tour with plenty of tips for wining and dining in Tromsø and humorous anecdotes from the culture and history of northern Norway. An excellent local guide , Daniel, first showed us around town and then served us a variety of local specialities - all interesting and many delicious. I would recommend the tour for those wanting to get a glimpse of the local under the tourist facade.

The Tromsø Food Walk was an excellent way to experience the city. The tour began with a stroll through Tromsø, stopping at local food shops and a gallery. Along the way, the guide shared interesting stories about the city’s history and culture. After the walk, we gathered in a cozy dining room to sample authentic northern Norwegian foods. The focus was on traditional, authentic flavors that gave a real sense of the region. It was a relaxed and enjoyable way to learn about the local food and culture. A great experience overall and a very nice guide!
