While other operators may give you one method of chasing the lights on foot or in a minivan, we are proud to be the only outfitter to invest so much time and customer research into a brand new adventure that gives you not one, but THREE methods to see and photograph the northern lights and the absolute best chances of a successful aurora chase in Abisko National Park. We are proud of the fact that we are fully insured and have all the necessary permits to operate our tours in Abisko National Park, which many of our competitors have simply chosen not to do. All of our evening adventures have a maximum guest to guide ratio of 8:1. This makes the experience much more genuine, and helps us maintain proper social distancing at our locations. Since your adventure includes all transportation, there is not a set time that we have to return back to the hotel, which gives us more flexibility and the ability to stay out later than any other outfitter in Abisko.

What To Expect

Join one of our professional aurora guides for an opportunity to see and photograph the aurora borealis in one of our lovely locations in and around Abisko National Park! Due to a tendency for clear skies, Abisko is one of the greatest places in the world to see the northern lights. We will provide you with a DSLR camera & lens that is preset to capture the northern lights and quickly go over the basic skills that you will need to find and photograph the magical aurora borealis. Our Ultimate Aurora Photo Adventure offers you THREE different ways to see the northern lights: depending upon the weather and aurora forecast we will hunt for the lights on foot at a nearby teepee, chase the lights in a modern 4×4 van, or ride on a cozy sleigh which is pulled behind a snowmobile to one of our wilderness camps. This evening under the stars offers you a fantastic opportunity to learn about the culture & natural history of Lapland and gives you a chance to experience beauty that can only be found in Abisko National Park. Small groups of 8 guests guarantee a very personal and genuine experience and ensure a safe and comfortable trip into the Arctic environment.

It was a great experience. Our two guides Felix and Miguel were fantastic! We got amazing shots of the lights and the guides were great at instructing us and explaining the science behind the phenomenon.

We were lucky to have three amazing guides, Miguel, Mateo and Bookie who put the biggest effort in making sure we could catch the Auroras. They surely assured we saw the northern lights, even when the conditions weren’t the best. They helped us taking the photos and answered every question imaginable. They also lightened up a cozy fire and offered some warm drinks and cookies, which was lovely in a cold night. If you are looking forward to seeing the northern lights and being able to photograph them in hands of guides with amazing photography knowledge, this is your tour!!!

This tour was wonderful! Our tour guide, Miguel, was so knowledgeable and ready to help us get the experience we were hoping for. From science facts, Aurora folklore, to photography expertise, Miguel made the hours waiting for the perfect conditions fly by. At the end, through sheer perseverance and luck, we managed to close out the evening with some gorgeous lights. Mother nature might be fickle but Miguel has your back. The tour package makes things easy, providing all the equipment you would need, a warm drink and snack, and an awesome experience hiking through the wilderness with the best guides.

Perfect experience with Joey who took us to see the dawn and walked on an icy lake 🤩 Bus tour with breaks to see the dawn, and warm up around a fire with a hot infusion before returning.

Our tour was an amazing adventure trying to capture the Aurora before an arctic storm blew in. Joey Tristan, our guide, sought out places we could safely gaze to the heavens and lose ourselves in the wonder of the skies. She taught us the science behind the phenomenon, what to look for, and patiently assisted us in how to capture the Aurora with our own cameras/devices (which is part of the experience). She also took photos with professional equipment of both the Aurora and of the clients. The tour included local stories of flora and life in the area around a campfire started with the bark of paper birch, complete with hot local Lingonberry juice. She allowed us to share in the excitement of the chase!

Me and my boyfriend went on this trip in February 2025 and we had the most amazing time. We saw northern lights at different locations 4 nights in a row. Some nights more electric than others but even on nights where it looked like a snow and/or rain storm the blue cloud opened up and our guides knew exactly where to take us to see the best of the lights. I recommend this tour group to anyone interested in seeing the northern lights! A special shout out to our tour guides Fabian & Felix! They were excited as we were every time the lights danced above us!

This trip was amazing, I was skeptical going in, but we got lucky with the weather. Everyday we had a new fun adventure, but the night’s aurora watching was epic. Sara B (no H) was an amazing guide and a fabulous host. She catered to all of our needs, was insightful and interesting, and was the cherry on too to the trip. Some of my family went on this trip before and decided to return. So I went with this time. It did not disappoint at all. This trip meant a lot to my family after losing our mother months before and I could not have asked for anything better. Abisko WAS amazing for watching the northern lights, and everyone made the experience beyond 5 star.
