On this tour you are accompanied by a historian with a deep passion and knowledge of Wales. You will learn some Welsh, sample traditional Welsh food and learn about the ancient history and culture of Wales. Gareth, your guide is a fluent Welsh speaker and he will give you an insight into Wales that wouldn't be available with a standard tour operator.
The area we will visit is dotted with quaint old towns and picturesque villages which seem untouched by time. The South West is the home of Pembrokeshire coast national park, and is an area renowned for the beauty of its beaches and coastline.
An example of a tour could be a visit to the wonderfully preserved Norman Castle at Pembroke, then lunch in the beautiful medieval port of Tenby followed by a stop off in Laugharne, the former home of the poet Dylan Thomas.

Pembroke Castle
Explore the Norman castle. Learn about how it was built and why. Find out what life was like in medieval times. Pembroke is one of the best preserved castles in West Wales.
Tenby South Beach
Marvel at the delightful town of Tenby. Once a medieval port surrounded by a castle walls it is now one of Wales's favorite holiday destinations. Enjoy a meal at a wealth of restaurants or just have a walk on the harbour side. Tenby has two beautiful beaches with crystal clear water.

5.00Did not disappoint! Our guide was thoroughly knowledgeable about Welsh history and language. Very affable. Plenty of time to see the sites and have free time as well. Will book another tour with him next time we’re in Cardiff!

5.00We saw some amazing towns and learned so much about the area from our tour guide. He was knowledgeable and interesting. It was a great option after a late night, because I slept the 2 hours on the way to the first stop. You will go to the beach, so if it’s a sunny day bring a beach towel to enjoy the beautiful view. We loved the town of Tenby and the home of Dylan Thomas.

5.00We received everything and more than we expected in this tour experience. Gareth, took us to our prescribed destinations, but more than that he provided in-depth history of the region, country and relations to surrounding countries. Gareth also helped us understand the evolution of the Welsh language. Gareth was able to answer all of our questions with 1st, 2nd and 3rd level details and descriptions. If/when we come back to Cardiff we will certainly schedule a tour with Gareth to explore the other nearby areas we didn’t have time to explore.

5.00The choice of 3 location to visit showed different aspects of life in Wales. Our guide Garett was quite well versed in Welsh and English history —this provided us with background information that aided in our stops at the castles and the different towns.
