Our kayak adventure with Able Tasman Kayaks was well managed from beginning to end. Every staff member from was friendly, helpful and efficient but Mitchell, our guide, was amazing. His ability to anticipate our needs, keep to the schedule, to provide the details we needed, to make the necessary adjustments (on the third day he provided us with a walking option that was very satifying) and to prepare healthy, delicious meals and snacks for up to 10 of us was truly amazing. The campsites were set up for us and we even had air mattresses. We are not strong paddlers so a kayak/walk/kayak may have been a better choice for us as the waves and headwind around a couple of of the points were hard but Mitchell made it work for us. Thank you Mitchell! I highly recommend Abel Tasman Kayaks for an adventure in a stunningly beautiful place.

What a fantastic family trip! Whitney the super guide looked after us so well! The food was amazing, nothing was rushed and a good amount of paddling each day. My son is also Coeliac and they catered for him extremely well. Blue water, green bush and golden sand. Absolutely magic! 💯 recommend!

From the first email to the shower at the end of our trip our experience with ATK was exceptional. Every team member was professional, friendly, helpful and great to deal with and our guide, Awatea, was fantastic. I can't recommend the Three Day Classic enough. We added an extra day to our trip and walked from Totoranui to Anapai Bay return then on to Awaroa for the night. Tip: pack reef shoes to cross the Awaroa inlet and a plastic bag to put them in afterwards. We met our guide and Kayaks on the beach, had a very clear briefing before hitting the water. The next 3 days were full of adventure information, stories, fun, breathtaking scenery (especially Shag Harbour), delicious meals and possibly the best activity-based trip we have ever done. Our group of 6 (family of 4 and 2 friends) would do it again in a heartbeat.

Great family friendly adventure, loved the information about the park, the walks to explore, fully catered yummy meals. Our guide Lou was a great resource, lover of NZ outdoors and great at checking in on the various needs of our group. Loved that we got a bit of everything from the weather Gods and excited we got to add penguin spotting to our check list.

SIMPLY DO IT!! I can't heap enough praise on this full day trip. If the tides are on your side, start from Awaroa Bay and kayak past the seals to Shag Harbour. This place is not to be missed - a beautiful peaceful natural harbour that is just incredible to experience. On our trip the winds were right and we were able to join the kayaks together and sail to our next bay. And then the highlight for us - while resting at Mosquito Bay, we heard about 2 nearby orcas. There was a mad scramble to get out on the water to then have the delight of 2 orcas swimming past us. Superb. Daryl was our guide and he was simply excellent and kept us well topped up with "home made" chocolate chip cookies. The service was brilliant all day and the provided lunch was delicious. None of the other kayak companies go this far in to the National Park which meant we were alone for much of the trip. As I said before... JUST DO IT!!

We had a brilliant time on our Abel Tasman Kayaks trip. We had Darryl looking after our group (my partner and me, a family and a single). He was very competent, entertaining and also really knowledgeable about the birdlife, bush, sealife and history of the area. He also adapted the day based on the conditions to ensure we had the best possible time. The kayaks were in good nick and we felt safe and well briefed. The day was particularly special as Darryl and my partner were in cahoots - he proposed on the beach when we stopped for lunch. The day would have been awesome regardless though!! Thanks Darryl and the team for our great trip :D

We have chosen a full day of kayaking, without the hike, to discover more of the Marine Reserve. After a short introduction we were on our way. The water taxi to the starting point was already better than expected. The guide took all the time and showed us a thing or two that we might not have been able to reach later due to the tide. Then a short explanation about the kayaks and paddling followed and we were allowed to launch ourselves. Our guide told us a lot about the nature, plants and animals that live there. The trip was relaxed, but we could still sail on. The lunch was excellent and we had ample time to relax here. It was a small group and that made it even more personal. Definitely a good choice!!!
