Yuchang Building
Continue the visit to YuChang Tulou, one of the oldest Tulou in Fujian. Built in the 13th century of Ming Dynasty, it has been leaning at its 15 degree for over 700 years and got its fame as the “China No.1 Tower “. Spend some time and explore this wonderful old residence once used to be the residences of five different families from Liu, Luo Zhang, Tang, Fan, learn its unique round-shaped design and admire the amazing Chinese ancient architecture. You may also enjoy a leisure walk along its souvenir streets to check out some of the local crafts, trinkets etc. After the great day, you will enjoy a nice journey back with the convenient drop off at your place in Xiamen.

5.00Everything went very smoothly, from the hotel pick up, on time. The car was nice and comfortable. The sightseeing was beautiful. Our guide, Shi, was the best, giving important and interesting details in every places we visit. We had a wonderful experience in the ancient Vila, a delicious lunch, a cosy coffee shop and we were able to watch the village people doing their daily chores. Everything you perfect and very well organised. An amazing experience i recommend it to everyone.

5.00A car is a great way to see the Tulou. I had a great guide named Lily. She was friendly ( spoke excellent English if you are a foreigner) and knew a lot of interesting historical and cultural bit about life in the villages. She also knew lots of tips for touring Xiamen in general. A great day.

4.00The round & triangular tulou are a must visit in Nanjing County which are World Cultural Heritage. Amazing how villagers of centuries ago could build such well protected homes from mud and woods. We managed to go up to level one just to see where the rooms & stores are located. A little too commercial, many stalls sell souvenirs and very crowded.

5.00Lily the tour guide was very friendly and her conversation made the 2 hour drive from Xiamen pass by very quickly. She shared a lot on the tour about the history of the Tulou buildings and the surrounding areas. Very attentive as well, took photos for me and made sure I had water as it was very hot. I got to try a grass jelly dessert in one of the buildings and lunch was at a restaurant by the river that served delicious Hakka food. As it was my first time in Xiamen, Lily also advised me on places to visit in the city. She's a wonderful guide if you are in the area. Thank you Lily for an unforgettable experience!
