What To Expect
Tikal
Tikal National Park encompasses 575 square kilometres of jungle and thousands of ruined structures. The central part of the ancient city alone contains 3,000 buildings and covers about 16 square kilometers. Tikal is also part of the one-million-hectare Maya Biosphere Reserve created in 1990 to protect the dense forests of the Peten, which started to disappear at an alarming rate due to population pressures, illegal logging and slash-and-burn agricultural practices. Archeologists estimate that the Maya settled in the area now known as Tikal in about 900 BC.

5.00I wanted the best tour I could have that included the sunrise and sunset packages. Tikal Go provided us with an excellent guide who met us at 4 AM and departed at 6 PM that same day. In between we got a comprehensive tour of the park and the monuments. Our guide pointed out many plants and animals that grow on the site. My daughter and I were very impressed with his knowledge, his kindness and his willingness to answer all our questions. If you are going to Tikal, Tikal Go is well worth your money.

5.00Our flight from Guatemala City arrived very early in the morning and our hotel room would not be ready for many hours. Kendel from TikalGo met us at the airport with Alex the driver at 6:20 am. They took us to Tikal where Kendel gave us a very knowledgeable and informative tour. He then brought us to the restaurant where we had a delicious lunch. Afterwards they dropped us back at our hotel in El Remate. A perfect way to spend our first day here. Kendel was great and happy to go at whatever pace we wanted and show us whatever we wanted.

5.00Everything was SPECTACULAR. Deal from the moment of booking, pick up from the hotel, tour. The explanation of the guide by Alejandro, everything was great. The itinerary is followed at the foot. At 3am sharp they were in the hotel lobby picking us up. Seeing the sunrise from the 4th pyramid was amazing. Thank you very much, my boyfriend received his birthday in an extraordinary way.

5.00My husband and I agreed - Tulio was our favorite guide we had in a while. We had such an exceptional experience touring Tikal. Not only is the site amazing, but Tulio gave the perfect tour. He knew a ton, and he kept the tour engaging for both myself (history lover) and my husband (not so much). He was able to answer all our questions, and was so incredibly patient when we got a late start or wanted to spend more time enjoying the views at a particular spot. I also love how he would teach us about each place, then give us time to explore on our own, and then regroup, so we could take our time and decompress, but also learn a ton. It was exceptionally well done. I highly recommend a visit with Tikal Go!

1.00325$ wasted money Asked for 4:30 departure to be 06:00 in the park. I think they did not want to start that early so they told me that it was only a 45 minutes drive and we could nog enter the park earlier than 6 anyhow. Fact is,Checking point for entry time is in the park itselfand not where the gate is, so i ended up being in the park at 7 together with the mayority of people. We were also told to bring our own breakfast package, the guide found it needed to make a breakfast stop for himself and drink peacefully a coffee even knowing we were basically already way too late Did my complain, i hear nothing back. Bad company and Waste of money

5.00We hired the sunrise, our guide Obdulio, wonderful, patient, friendly, attentive. And the tour although we could not see the sun because it was cloudy was beautiful. Tikal is beautiful

5.00We did a private tour of Tikal today with Tikal Go for myself, my husband, and our 20-year-old son, and it was excellent from start to finish. The tour was very easy to organise online, with great communication throughout. We received helpful text message updates, which made everything run smoothly and stress-free. Our guide Roel was outstanding — bright, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and genuinely friendly. His passion for Tikal and Mayan history really brought the site to life and made the experience far more special than it otherwise would have been. Our driver Antonio was also excellent — a fabulous, safe driver and a lovely person, which made the whole day relaxed and enjoyable. We would highly recommend Tikal Go for anyone visiting Tikal and wanting a memorable, well-organised experience.
