No transportation is offered, and at first it doesn't look like much, but it's a great experience. We learned about organic coffee farming, roasting of coffee beans, sugar cane, and coca. We made delicious corn empanadas with black beans on an open fire. Tio Leo is such an interesting and informative person and "Drama Queen" was gracious. Well worth what you pay, and then some.

Tio Leo’s coffee tour was good! It covered the history and production of coffee and chocolate expansively. The presentation was informative filled with humor and showed Tio Leo’s true love for his craft. Helped by Mierna, there were a number of hands on experiences where we got to help make our own delicious snacks and drinks, including a lesson on sugarcane. This tour was a great value and great time! The tour was longer than we expected because he doesn’t want to rush the experience so expect a 3-4 hour tour. Bring mosquito repellent for the field part of the tour.

Everyone is friendly and the tour is very informative! I loved that Leo talked about the history and they way he grows in a changing climate.

This was easily one of our best experiences in Costa Rica. The coffee tour is so informative - history of coffee, process, extraction, cooking class. My kids were engaged for several hours. Tio Leo is so affable and knowledgeable. A must attraction if in the area. Only regret, not purchasing more coffee to take back with us.

Fantastic tour. Tio Leo and family are fin, entertaining and very generous. They were super sweet with our kids and had special treats for them. The tour itself is long and very interesting. We cook empenadas (recipe included!), we grind chocolate, we make sugar cane juice, we taste coffee and we walk around the plantation to get coffee beans and différent fruits. I suggest you take the afternoon tour as it lasted one hour longer.

Wonderful experience! Great variety of information directly from the owner. You have to try it. Cook, drink and eat different flavours.

Amazing experience! Leo and his family are so cute and the coffee is good. Interesting experience, best empanadas ever! I'd highly recommend taking some time to hang out and sip some coffee and chocolate

The tour was authentic and Tio Leo provided a lot of information about coffee, history, and costa Rican culture. He has a shop that you can buy souvenirs. It would be helpful if they sold bug spray. I didn’t realize we would be walking through his farm, picking coffee berries and learning about all of the trees and herbs that he grows on his farm. He was friendly, it was interactive, and an enjoyable experience in the rain. The mosquitos are not so fun- so wear appropriate clothing.

What an amazing surprise. We didn't really know what to expect but our visit to Tio Leo Coffee was way beyond those expectations! Everyone was generous with their time, their knowledge, and their stories. I would highly recommend stopping in and give yourself plenty of time as the tour is best savored, not rushed!
