Postbllok - Checkpoint Monument
Our first stop is Postblloku (Checkpoint Memorial), a powerful tribute to the victims of Albania’s communist regime. This open-air installation includes original elements from the dictatorship, such as a concrete bunker, a piece of the Berlin Wall, and steel supports from a forced labor camp. Located on Tirana’s main boulevard, it stands as a chilling reminder of the country's decades-long isolation and repression under Enver Hoxha

5.00Our tour guide Angjelo was very knowledgeable, friendly, and ready to answer all of our questions. A great introduction to modern Albania and its historical struggles, as well as to various political landmarks in Tiranë! (We were also the only ones on the tour which was excellent!!)

He explained the city’s history, culture, and political background in such a clear and engaging way that time just flew by. Angelo is knowledgeable, passionate, and full of great stories that make the city come alive. You can really feel how much he loves Tirana. Highly recommended to anyone visiting!
