Transnistria has preserved a lot of Soviet monuments, equipment, attractive places and facts that will be interesting for everyone to learn. Visiting Transnistria is like traveling on a time machine – not much has changed there since nowadays. The cities of Bender and Tiraspol, keep many soviet monuments, with a specific architecture. You should come to Transnistria especially if you’re from a country that was never a part of the Soviet Bloc or controlled by it. It will help you understand what the daily reality was like for millions of people in the Soviet Union. You’ll visit practically almost fully conserved ‘museum’ of Soviet times.

Depending on the number of bookings, sometimes the tour could be private or shared with small groups, up to 8-10 people. But from our experience most of our groups are 3-4 or 5 people.

What To Expect

Bendery Fortress

We will visit the Bender Fortress, located on the right bank of the Dniester in the city of Bender. The Fortress is an architectural monument of the XVI century. Its construction started in 1538 after the town became part of the Ottoman Empire.

Tighina Military Cemetery

We will visit the Memorial complex, the site of an abandoned military cemetery, where, according to existing data, there were buried 5127 souls. It is known that 110 Russian regiments were stationed in Bender at various times, especially during Balkan campaigns.

The tour was nice, well organized and Marcel was flexible, in case we had specific questions and / or requests. The tour was a full day tour and was interesting continuously. Good combination of walking and riving around.

Excellent trip from Chișinău to Tiraspol! The journey was great, and the border crossing into Transnistria (PMR) was surprisingly well-organized and smooth. Highly recommend.

A stunning travel back in time and a very valuable lesson on history and identity. A magical and very relaxed pace excursion to an incredibly nice historical area rich in identity with genuine people around. Furthermore our guide Corneliu was really good and very attentive. He tailored cmthe tour to our interests and adapted timing of several visits to accommodate our thirst for knowledge around the historical dynamics of the Pridnestrovie territory and it's people's identity and claims for autonomy and independence, their traditions and the mindset of the locals. Corneliu has proven to be a very respectful an impartial narrator of the events that lead the locals to demanding their recognition and we really appreciated the knowledge he shared and the contextual information he provided on each site and monument we visited. Furthermore the lunch break at CCCP was simply stunning: excellent and very tasty traditional food and a laid back atmosphere.

Nikolai was amazing guide. I came with my friend as college students not knowing what to expect, he was very informative and friendly to us. Very glad he was our guide made us feel very safe and welcomed. Could not have asked for a better experience. Would definitely recommend.

We felt very safe and comfortable. The experience is unique and you can feel a little bit like in USRR country but generally the territory look very clean and somehow modern. The guide Natalia added knowledge and her perspective and it was worthy a lot. Fully recommend.

Excellent tour in minibus - very good local guide Natalia made everthing easy including easy passport control - no problem with having a US Passport either - Tiraspol was friendly, lots to see,wonderful lunch in back to ussr restaurant - just spent about $20 in local currency on souvenirs and meal and beers and wine - all very cheap - highly recommend Natalia and driver Victor and trip

Such a great experience. Pickup was seamless on time, border crossing a breeze and our guide Marina was knowledgeable and energetic. She took us to sights, lunch and a fee stores to buy local goods. A great day in torrential rain in Pridnestrovie!!

The experience is highly recommended. It is true that I expected Transnistria to represent a greater contrast to any other "western" city and really, except for the "propaganda" part, there are not too many differences on an architectural level, nor on the way of living. Of course, the tour is very well organized and Natalia, the guide, is spectacular. He knows everything and answered all the questions very professionally. Highly recommended. If anyone doubts for safety, with Natalia, 100% safe and easy.
