Our first stop is at Fort James, located in Plymouth, the biggest village on the Caribbean side. Here you learn about the history of Tobago and the famous “Mystery Tombstone” and the 17th century ruins. Here the inscriptions on the tombstone baffles all who reads it, and the stories behind it has become a great conversation starter. Enjoy a beautiful view overlooking three bays. We continue our drive along the Caribbean side, stop at a 200 year old Silk Cotton Tree, then we drive until we reach the Mount Dillon Lookout with its stunning view overlooking Castara, a little sleepy fishing village as well as the untouched coastline. From there we drive downhill into the village of Castara were you have the opportunity to experience a typical fishing village. Our next stop is at one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Englishman’s Bay, where the rainforest almost meets the green turquoise waters and the untouched bay. From there we head towards Parlatuvier, another magnificent bay. We can have a wonderful lunch at the famous “Jemma’s Seaview kitchen, a restaurant in Speyside built on the beach and around a tree.(not included in price). Enjoy great local food. Our last stop will be the “center of the North”, Charlottesville. There we will visit “Flagstaff Hill”, where you can enjoy one of the most stunning views Tobago has to offer. In the afternoon we drive along the Atlantic coast to Scarborough for our last stop at Fort King George. This is the best kept Fort of the island with a beautiful view of our capital Scarborough.

We had an excellent guide Edith who gave us a lot of interesting information about the culture, sights and nature of the Tobago island. We visited a lot more than what was mentioned in our program and learnt a lot about the habits of the people as well. She even spent more time showing us the sights than what was foreseen in the program. I can really recommend this excursion for everyone who wants to have a general overview of the island and its beautiful scenery.

Edith was the worst tour guide I’ve ever had. She was impatient , rude, condensing, very intrusive of my private life. She got upset when I asked if she can take me to get food before the tour into the rainforest and told me she is a the best tour guide and she doesn’t care about what I want. Then she told my mother I am spoiled and a diva when I went into the store to get a snack and that it is my mothers fault how I am, just because I didn’t want to eat the food she made at home. She was insulting when we told her our family is from Trinidad and tried to correct us about our own history and culture, which was offensive coming from a German woman who has only been living in Tobago for some time. This was the worst tour I’ve ever experienced. I recommend, having a local tour guide
