5.00We had a great experience with Mak. My wife and I took this tour at the beginning of our time to got oriented to Tokyo and get a better understanding of the food. Mak was an excellent host, vey passionate and knowledgeable about the food and general Japanese culture and he added real value to our journey.

5.00If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Tokyo, this food tour in Shinjuku is an absolute must! Our guide, Yuki, was incredible—her deep knowledge of Japanese cuisine and the local history of the district really made the experience special. The Highlights • Fresh Seafood Lunch: We started with a fantastic spread of sashimi and fried tuna. It was the perfect introduction to the quality of ingredients here. • Traditional Pairings: We got to sample traditional drinks like sake and plum wine, which paired perfectly with the meal. • Hidden Gems: Yuki led us to another part of the district to try pork tempura. It was absolutely delicious and something we might have never found on our own. • Okinawan Flavors: The absolute standout was trying the food from Okinawa. It was a unique and flavorful highlight that we’ll be talking about for a long time. Final Verdict Overall, this was a stellar experience. We walked away with full stomachs and a much better understanding of both Japanese food culture and the history of Shinjuku. Yuki is a fantastic guide who is clearly passionate about her city. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo!

1.00I paid 90 Canadian dollars for this tour greatly looking forward to visiting and receiving a tour of Golden Gai. After all, it is literally written in the tour listing that we will visit Golden Gai. I have included a photo of that. I was severely disappointed to find that despite their advertising, this tour company did not bother to schedule a Golden Gai visit. Ridiculous! Tour guide was nice, this is completely on the company for not scheduling it.

5.00Really enjoyed our food tour. Our guide Elena was friendly, funny, and very considerate of all the guests including our children. It was great to be guided around the busy crowded streets of Shinjuku and hearing little stories. The food was excellent, and there was something for everyone to enjoy.

5.00Emma is great! Young , enthusiastic, funny with great insights into Japanese culture. Raised in California so English is perfect. Sushi restaurant served some of the best I've had. Would due this tour again in a heartbeat!!
