Experience the beauty of Resurrection Bay, its abundant marine life, and beautiful glacial vistas on this Seward kayaking excursion from Lowell Point. On this trip, we paddle the shoreline of Resurrection Bay, where encounters with sea otters, sea birds, bald eagles, and leaping salmon are common. Our day will include a paddle along the coastline and walking through a temperate rain forest. We’ll explore Tonsina Point with its ghost forest, late-season salmon stream, and beautiful mountain views from its beach. Enjoy a picnic lunch and possibly a visit to a waterfall.
Participants must be 8 years old and a minimum of 50 lb to participate. Paddlers over 6'4" or 250 lb will not fit in our kayaks.

Seward Boat Harbor
This is your opportunity for us to show you first-hand the beauty of Seward, Lowell Point, and Resurrection Bay. While making our way to our kayaking location, learn about life in Seward, both past and present, from your driver-guide, who will narrate as we make our way through town. As we leave the paved streets of Seward, we’ll travel along the shoreline of Resurrection Bay on the gravel surface of Lowell Road. We’ll view turquoise blue waters and beautiful mountain vistas while we travel comfortably by van to our private beach.

5.00We couldn't of asked for a better day, fabulous guides, Sam and Zeke, and an incredible lunch. It was marvelous. An adventure I highly recommend with knowledgeable guides like ours. I had prepared myself to get wet and have a great attitude. I stayed dry and had a splendid time.

5.00Highly recommend! I had a great trip with Taylor, who was an awesome and knowledgeable guide. We saw a ton of sealife, eagles, and spawning salmon. It was nice to mix up the kayaking with hiking and exploring in the forest!

5.00I highly recommend Sunny Cove and the Tonsina Point Kayak and Exploration trip in particular. Our guide, Maggie, was knowledgeable, friendly, chill and funny! The trip was just right for this 70-year-old - easy kayaking (the weather was perfect; the water was very calm) and the short hikes into the rainforest were a lovely counterpoint. Lunch was simple but yummy!

Natural beauty kayaking Resurrection Bay

5.00Just spent six hours kayaking on Resurrection Bay and hiking the rain forest at Tonsina Point with Taylor and Mathew as our guides. They gave us excellent instructions and fitted us with boots, wave skirts and personal floatation devices. They helped us launch and land. They are avid naturalists and first-class noticers. We saw harbor seals, sea lions, sea otters, harbor porpoises, eagles, perhaps 20 species of waterfowl, and starfish and other marine animals clinging to rocks next to us at low tide. Taylor and Matthew were intent on our seeing and understanding what was around us. We never felt unsafe. We didn't get cold or wet. Resurrection Bay is stunningly beautiful, with snow-topped mountains coming down to the water.

5.00Taylor and Sven were fantastic! Both very personable and knowledgeable about the creatures and plant life that surrounds and inhabits the bay. Top notch experience and we were spoiled to have perfect paddling weather for mid-May. Must do if in the area with the Sunny Cove crew!!

5.00The kayaking was amazing! Lots of great views and wildlife! Otters 🦦 swimming and popping up around the kayaks. Margot was our guide and we couldn’t have asked for a better one! She was friendly, informative and lots of fun! HIGHLY recommend this trip!

5.00Fantastic experience! We had THE BEST time on our kayaking tour. Our guides, Tasha, Maggie, and Bailey were amazing: all very positive, patient, knowledgeable, and FUN! Our family of 11, with kids ranging in age from 10-17, kayaked out to Tonsiha Point. We were thrilled to see otters along the way. The hike through the forest was fun as well and we all enjoyed the picnic on the beach. Our guides were entertaining and even challenged our kids to a beach race, which they loved. Would absolutely recommend!
