What To Expect

Project Tres is an initiative to amplify and promote the economic development of women in India and Kenya. We started the cooking classes project, and we are very excited about it. This project is still a work in progress, and we are still learning and improving our processes. But please bare with us, we are great cookers and will do our best to provide you with the best experience possible. This class teaches you how to cook traditional Indian food with aromatic, ayurvedic spices. All the dishes are vegetarian and made with local ingredients. Project Tres values responsible tourism activities. Each cooking class contributes directly to the local community and women in the project. Please be open about cultural differences, cooking methods and species used may differ from what you are used to. If you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies, please let us know. We use mineral water for preparations and to serve our guests. This experience will take approximately 3h, and you will cook a 5 vegetarian dish menu. We are looking forward to meeting you :)

We had a great time prepping and cooking along with the ladies and contributing to a worthy cause at the same time. Very enjoyable few hours and a tasty meal to finish it off.

We had a great couple of hours prepping and cooking along with the ladies and learning some Indian vegetarian home cooking skills. Close to where we were staying in the Westin and a little off the beaten track but a great experience and the food was delicious. Was just the two of us so easy to get involved in the cook and helps contribute to a very good cause in Project Tres. A nice start to the day and a very tasty lunch.

  • A lovely experience

Cooking together with women from the local community was truly special. We learned how to prepare several dishes, and everything was absolutely delicious. But beyond the cooking, what made it memorable was the sharing — learning a little more about the women, their stories and the project behind it. A beautiful moment of connection that I would absolutely encourage anyone to experience as well!

What a fantastic company! The ladies were lovely from start to finish, we got to learn a lot about the project, how it started 10 years ago from 2 ladies, now it is empowering over 15 ladies in the community. The project has even spread to Kenya and other countries. The cooking class itself was fantastic, and very worth the price. We made lots of lovely dishes and did not need anything else to eat all day! Thank you so much to the wonderful ladies for this fantastic experience.

We had a terrific time learning to cook a true Goan meal. We are so happy to support this mission and bought some home made items as a souvenir. They provide a pdf of the menu and recipes after. Thank you so much. By the way the kitchen was superbly clean, even though we chopped things on a little stool on the floor!! Great fun.

  • Highly recommended for amateur chefs

We attended the cooking class in January. The house is a bit hard to find. But the women wanted to put appropriate signs here. That should end this problem. The Project Tres is a great foundation that supports women in need. The cooking classes support the project. In the cooking class we prepared four vegetarian dishes and two breads together. We learned a lot about Indian kitchen tools, spices and preparation methods and could participate anywhere. At the end of the c. 3 hour cooking class we then ate the delicious prepared dishes.

The cooking course was amazing! The two ladies were so kind and sweet and let us prepare all the food if we wanted to (which we did!). The recipes were really yummy. We cooked a whole menu in great company! 100% recommend if you are interested in the Goan/Indian cuisine. We took some spices home and will definitely try to recreate these yummy dishes!

  • Wonderful way to meet local women and learn hands on cooking

Wonderful experience cooking and sharing a meal with Rajashree and Shamilila. We helped prepare our meal w wonderful fresh ingredients, we were able to ask questions and learn how to juggle the preparation of 5 dishes, Puri and Chapatti. We went straight out to the market to buy our own Chapatti / Puri rolling pins and boards. Unfortunately we can’t fit the coconut shredding seat in our bags. It’s great to know we were supporting a women’s ngo. Highly recommend.

A really enjoyable morning cooking with the ladies. Some lovely dishes inc prawn curry, clams & kingfish with rice/ vegetable side dishes. The ladies were so nice and explained each step. The food was delicious and plenty of it! What a great way to spend the morning and feel that you are helping to make a difference to women’s (and thus children’s) lives.

The workshop was a very interesting experience and a great opportunity to discover Indian cuisine in a real home setting. We could see what everyday cooking looks like, meet the hosts, and learn about the story behind a very inspiring project that supports women. What was missing for us was the chance for more hands-on cooking and receiving a full set of recipes after the workshop. Overall, the workshop is more of a live cooking experience than a fully interactive cooking class.
