Yukari did a wonderful job helping me select the perfect kimono...I was very pleased with the end result. She and her assistant dressed me, and that was way more involved than I anticipated. There are several layers individually cinched around your rib cage before the obi belt (for women - for men the belt sits more at the waist). So...bad posture is not possible while wearing your kimono. Breathing may seem difficult at first if you aren't used to abdominal breathing. You will get used to it after a little while. I highly recommend the parasol, as the sun can be very hot - it made a noticeable difference. We felt like we were part of the culture.

This exceeded all our expectations, you pay extra for entry into Dejima, but that in itself is a great experience as it’s an old Dutch trading area for you to walk around. We were 2 couples doing this. The ladies were so helpful with every aspect of the dressing up, they then did a photo shoot for us. We were allowed to borrow the garments for several hours, but we were quite content to just wander outside to the walled garden for more photos. It was a fantastic experience and well worth doing

I absolutely loved this experience. The ladies in the shop were amazing at dressing us and doing my hair. I'm amazed I managed to persuade my husband but he loved it too. Could have used all day but only downside was walking in traditional shoes, they really hurt!

We had a great experience from beginning to end. The ladies working there were so helpful and friendly. They allowed you to choose your own kimono and Samarai colour but were willing to help if needed. Both ladies were so warm and welcoming, so polite and went out of their way to make sure you had a wonderful experience. We arrived early than our appointment and it was so problem. Dejima was not crowded that day. There's a beautiful area in the building for photos and some areas including a little bridge outside where you can take photos. It was a truly great experience.

he kimono experience in Nagasaki was absolutely top of the top. My wife and I had an incredible time dressing in beautiful traditional kimonos and walking around the city. Everything felt elegant, special, and very authentic. The staff was kind, helpful, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable from beginning to end. Wearing the kimonos made us feel more connected to Japanese culture, and it turned into one of the most memorable moments of our trip. We truly loved every minute of it and highly recommend this experience to any couple visiting Nagasaki.

This was brilliant. The ladies did a great job especially with granddaughters hair. They took their time and took loads of photos for us both in the building and in the village.

Our host was very sweet and did an excellent job with wrapping us in our Kimonos. Walking the local area was quite fun as people wanted our picture. I’m not sure how many of the locals do this. Trying to sit at a table to eat was an adventure! Highly recommend this city.
