Welcome to the traditional Korean bookbinding class, the only chance in Seoul you can experience the real traditional Korean bookbinding.
We will use Hanji.
Hanji is the traditional Korean paper used to make Annals of the Joseon Dynasty that is listed on UNESCO Memory of the World.
Joseon royal family and Korean Confucian scholars and intellectuals would use it when writing diaries or taking notes.
The cover will be made by beautiful and classy silk weaved Korean traditional pattern.
Dozens of colorful threads and silk are available.
As the final touch, a No-ri-gae, traditional Korean knot is tied on the book.
You can make it and take it home right away!

this building doesn't set up elevator, so it may hard to move wheelchair, stroller and so on. But in the studio, you can use them
Only the number of people who made a reservation can enter the studio
Reservation is possible only if you are 17 years old or older
We can only assist you in person until 10:30 AM. After that time, we must focus on conducting classes and attending to other guests, so we will be unable to assist you via messenger or phone.

Learn Korean bookbinding and create a unique book using exquisite Hanji paper and silk 1 Choose your silk : Pick from 22 silk covers with Korean traditional patterns 2 Select Norigae and thread : Select your Norigae, Korean traditional ornaments, and color of thread 3 Learn about Hanji : Discover why Korean handmade paper is so special. 4 Making Korean notebook : Binding silk and Hanji using Korean traditional binding 5 Decorate notebook : Add a traditional Korean norigae knot to your notebook. 6 Pack your creation : Take home your notebook in a gift-ready package. As an old saying, silk lasts 500 years, while Hanji lasts 1,000 years. Perhaps, the notebook you will be creating is going to be a souvenir that lasts the longest.

5.00My friends and I decided to book this experience as part of our girl’s trip, and had so much fun while doing it! The instructor is very nice and guides you through each step of the book binding process seamlessly. We enjoyed learning about the traditional way to bind books and using multiple materials to create them. I highly, highly recommend to anyone looking to have a unique, fun experience while in seoul!

5.00A wonderful experience. Amazing setup in the studio. Incredibly well organised and equipped . Every specific tool that is needed is provided. Jinhee was an extremely warm host, so friendly and knowledgeable, with a great sense of humour. Everyone was engaged and all were successful in making their book.

5.00Yeah, great. That I would still learn something so fun and creative in my old age (67 years) was not expected. All the way to Seoul. The teacher was very good at demonstrating all the parts and tools prepared and after a brief explanation of the tradition of op. Silk based paper (banjo) and beautiful covers we could choose our own favorite colors. With patience and respect we were all surprised after 2 hours that we had made a beautiful book. I never thought you could do this. It was a very pleasant morning in Seoul.
