To start, you will take a chance to tast the traditional Vietnaemse tea and enjoy the various flavors of tea during the paiting class.
We will show you how traditional oriental watercolor painting differs from western style art and I n this Experience, you will learn calligraphy in Vietnamese Language and/or English also.
You will be taught the techniques on how to hold the brush, how much ink to use, and the proper strokes to write Vietnamese script and/or English characters
Create a beautiful bamboo script that you can take with you. Whatever your level of artistic skill, you’ll come away from this class with a unique and priceless memento of your trip to Vietnam.

5.00This was an one of our favourite activities of our trip to Hoi An. It ended up being just my friend and I in the class making it so private and intimate which we loved and were very lucky to experience. Jimmy was an incredible teacher and an extremely talented artist himself who taught us so many techniques which we will definitely use in future painting sessions. We highly recommend this class to anyone who likes to be creative!

5.00We took the Traditional Painting Class in August and had a fabulous time! My 13 year old daughter and I love to create art and were eager to learn some new painting techniques. Our painting instructor Jimmy was amazing! He was so friendly, patient, cheerful and had some really great advice with painting. Whenever we had questions or struggles he took time to help us with whatever we needed and kept reminding us to relax, have fun and believe in ourselves. He is a genuinely kind person and a very talented artist! We practiced painting on paper first before moving on to painting bamboo scrolls which was great 😊 Jimmy even made us some small scrolls with calligraphy on them saying “happiness” and “good luck” in Vietnamese for us to take home with us ❤️❤️ We highly recommend this class and will definitely be back again the next time we are in Hoi An. Thank you Jimmy! You are the best 🤗

5.00This was a lovely trip to an artist workshop. My daughter and I painted after a practice on paper and the results were excellent. The teacher is a cutie and is kind and patient with grown ups and kids. He is also mega talented with a workshop full of his creations. This tour was pre booked and in a workshop out the back rather than the busy street one out front and full of walk in customers. So glad I booked in advance for this more chilled atmosphere.

5.00The class was fantastic. Away from the heat, and hustle'n'bustle we had Jimmy lead us through the painting techniques and composition. My son painted his final picture onto his rice hat while my friend and I completed our scrolls. Wonderful way to spend a relaxing morning and find your zen space. Totally recommend. Thankyou!

5.00Such a simple and calm activity which ended up being a highlight of Hoi An for us. Our instructor was very patient and enthusiastic. We learnt about some Vietnamese culture and artwork. The coffee was a nice touch. If I come back to Hoi An I will visit again and do a different type of painting, as we were given a choice between bamboo and cherry blossom.

5.00My 12 year old daughter and I loved this class. The steps were explained and demonstrated so clearly, we were not rushed & we were supported to create an artwork that we were both really proud of. The instructors were fabulous - 1 was a master calligrapher who was such an inspiration. I highly recommend this class to young & old!
