I'm a passionate chef and I lead Soqueta. Soqueta is a gastronomic house, which seeks to divulge and promote Majorcan cuisine. It's an outgoing, street-level cuisine, because Soqueta wishes to be an easy, direct entrance to the way of being on the island and above all, to our gastronomy which is defining in our culture. I invite you to cook and enjoy the simplicity of sharing a table with the calm which characterizes the island. Everything revolves around an antique kitchen table which belonged to an old Majorcan farm-house, and which we are, all together, going to bring to life again.

What To Expect
Together we are going to enjoy a day of cooking, preparing recipes that are typical of the islands. We will make a starter, a main course and finally, a dessert. You will become aware of the pleasure of cooking unhurriedly, with your own hands, in an atmosphere which is homely, simple and typical of the island. Where? The kitchen is on the outskirts of Palma, in Sant Jordi, a place with a history: a neighbourhood which was formerly important for the city. The abundancy and quality of the vegetables and potatoes were such that the zone was considered “the pantry” of Palma. An atmosphere of calm, surrounded by fields scattered with the characteristic windmills, a setting which makes the experience more authentic.

From the moment we met at the Mercado d’Olivar in Palma, she opened up a world of insider knowledge—introducing us to hidden gems, passionate stallholders, and the finest produce Mallorca has to offer. We bought wonderful ingredients under her guidance, and the whole market tour felt like stepping into the heart of Mallorcan life. Afterwards, we went to her place where the magic truly began. Together, we cooked an array of authentic Mallorcan dishes, learning not only recipes but also the traditions and stories behind them. The food was delicious, the setting warm and welcoming, and Paula’s generosity of spirit made the entire day unforgettable. Paula is warm, generous, and makes the whole day fun and relaxed. It felt like spending time with a friend while discovering authentic Mallorca. Highly recommended!

5.00Cooking is a passion of ours and we wanted to immerse ourselves in the culture and lifestyle of Mallorca through this path. This cooking class by Paula far exceeded our expectations. With unadulterated joy and great love for her culture and recipes, which are very much influenced by the way her family prepares, she gave us a deep insight into Mallorcan cuisine - far from tourist tapas nubs. She has always surprised us with her extensive knowledge of the food, its origin and its preparation. With a lot of diligence and perseverance, she has created an oasis of Mallorcan lifestyle. 5.00Paola was lovely and the day was wonderful. She skillfully guided us through a relaxed preparation of a lovely meal. We were a mix of skill levels and ages and we were very comfortable throughout! Paola was extremely knowledgeable and lovely and we learnt a lot- about Mallorican cuisine, the island and history, and how to cut an artichoke. The recipes are ones I will cook at home!
