Transfagarasan Highway
Your private day tour begins with pickup directly from your hotel in Brașov. From there, we embark on one of the most scenic drives in Romania—the legendary Transfăgărășan Highroad, famously dubbed by Top Gear as "the best road in the world." This winding alpine route offers breathtaking views of the Carpathian Mountains, with photo stops along the way to soak in the dramatic landscapes and fresh mountain air. Please note: The Transfăgărășan is open only during the summer months (typically July to October). During the winter season, when the road is closed due to snow, we still access the high mountain views via cable car, offering a different but equally impressive experience.
Sibiu
Discovering Sibiu – Culture, Cuisine & Charm After the scenic mountain experience, we continue to Sibiu, one of Romania’s most charming cities and a former European Capital of Culture. You’ll enjoy a guided walking tour of the beautifully preserved Old Town, where cobbled streets and colorful architecture transport you to another time. Highlights include visits to both the Lutheran Cathedral, with its stunning Gothic architecture, and the Orthodox Cathedral, a jewel of neo-Byzantine design. For lunch, you’ll dine in one of Sibiu’s top local restaurants. In 2019, Sibiu proudly held the title of European Gastronomic Region, and you'll get a taste of why—it’s a great opportunity to savor traditional Romanian dishes prepared with a modern twist. After a relaxed afternoon enjoying Sibiu's cultural and culinary delights, we return to Brașov, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel.

5.00I came to fulfill a dream to visit and learn all about Transylvania, its history and culture. Thanks to Adrian, I had this magical experience in exploring the region, learning the history in all details possible, followed with some amazing adventures through the Carpathian Mountains. Adrian is not just a great guide with an incredible knowledge about the region, but a man that provides top services in all levels. We had full days discovering the history of Transylvania, visiting incredible sites, like Bran and Peles castles, discovering the cuisines and the region costume but also exploring the wild nature of the Carpathian Mountains. He made one of my dreams come true and it is unforgettable. I am sure he will do the same to you. It will be magical ! Thanks a lot Adrian !

5.00Adrian is a truly excellent guide. It always feels like a risk to book a whole day solo guided trip (could be a long, awkward day) but Adrian is a great conversationalist and very passionate and knowledgeable about the region, especially Saxon history. I asked for a custom tour to pack a longer hike, the highway, and Sibiu into one day, and we accomplished all. Do not hesitate to book with him!

5.00Adrian was great tour guide! Knowledgeable and friendly, perfect english for our tour, flexible guide. The tour was incredible, beautiful, historical and BEARS around and seen safely. We walked in a beautiful cave, had lunch, saw the fortress and dam, Balea lake and lots of BEARS! It was a wonderful day.

5.00Having travelled both sides of Europe with many different people I can sincerely say that Adrian is the most professional and knowledgeable guide we have ever had From the ist meeting where he was totally approachable and punctual to the hidden away places he showed us Adrian made us feel like part of his family Something we had not experienced before We traveled from castles to mountains into salt mines and food that was out of this world I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending both the tours or the man as someone to take you on an unbelievable adventure

5.00This was a great day-trip from Brasov to the famous Transfagarasan Highway and the city of Sibiu. Me and my wife were picked up at our hotel, on time, by our fantastic guide, Adrian, who is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the country. It was a pleasure seeing the amazing views and natural beauty of the area along with his input, and it made a huge difference in our appreciation of the history of the country and, particularly, Sibiu. Thank you for the great experience!

5.00I had an amazing tour with Adrian from Wise Transylvania Tours, visiting the bear sanctuary, Bran Castle, and Rasnov Fortress from Brasov. Adrian's passion and knowledge made the experience unforgettable. The bear sanctuary was heartwarming and informative, Bran Castle was rich with history and legends, and Rasnov Fortress offered stunning views and medieval insights. 5.00In the last month of March, my son and I did a perfect tour leaving Brasov with Wise Transylvania. Perfect because the proposed itinerary includes such gems as Prejmer Fortified Church for its beauty and preservation; the Haramn Fortified Church; Rasnov Fortress and finally Bran Castle. We were guided by Adrian. He has the guide’s essential qualities. He knows very well what he is showing, knows how to divide the time so that all the places are seen as the customer wishes and he is very kind and attentive, has a very good vehicle for the transport. We did other tours at Romência and this was the best guide. And he also made the transfer between Brasov and Sibiu. If we had known your company in advance we would have thought of another route through Romania and it would have been even better. We intend to return to Romania and we will hire you again. 5.00My friends and I had the best 2 days in Transylvania with Adrian as our guide. We did the Rasnov Fortress, Bran Castle and Peles Castle on one day and visited Sighisoara, Rasnov and Vicri on our second day with Adrian. Both days were just wonderful - Adrian is so knowledgeable about these historical places. He made history come alive! I felt like I knew Queen Marie personally after our visit to the Bran Castle. And he has a great personality and could not have given us better service! I highly recommend reaching out to Adrian at Wise Transylvania Tours - it will make your trip one of the best trips ever!
