This full-day tour from Luang Prabang includes waterfall visits and trekking and/or kayaking in the Nam Khan river valley. Each rainy season these falls erupt with life as the extra water from the mountains plunge over the flat rocks. The natural pools at the base of the waterfall are a must for a swim. We will have a joyful picnic lunch break and swimming in Tad Sae. Available from August to early January only, this package is recommended for families and groups who want to enjoy the best natural destinations near Luang Prabang.

What To Expect
Luang Prabang
Your tour experience begins with a transportation service pick up from your accommodation between 8:30 am – 9:00 am, we head off our way south to Ban Long Or. Cross the Nam Khan River by boat to the opposite village Ban Suan Dala. This village has all three ethnic groups: the Lao Loum, Khmu, and Hmong. The history and lives of each of these groups are rich and remarkably different from each other and from your own. You will have an opportunity to explore these local cultures there.
Tad Sae Waterfall
After leaving the village, we enjony an easy trekking to see the Lao countryside. Visit to the village of the Khmu people along the way for a picnic lunch, then resume the trek in the afternoon and head to the waterfall. The time spent at the waterfalls is about 2-3 hours. There is a main area with a park-like trail and a more natural area in the back, both of which are open for bathing. We will return to Luang Prabang at 4:00-5:00 pm

5.00We had a great day with our guide Vone. He explained a lot about the Lao culture and differences between ethnic groups that live in the villages we passed by. Vone knows his plants and herbs and could tell us all about the local plants and what they are used for in traditional herbal medicine. The trek was a nice challenge, with beautiful views on the rice fields and the limestone mountains. The Tad Sae waterfalls were stunning and the cooling splash we had in it was perfect.
