Your professional guide will take you to the Ranua Wildlife Park. The one-hour drive to Ranua will give you a chance to enjoy the scenery of Lapland and try to spot some local wildlife along the way - it is not unusual to see reindeer along the road, and also the gigantic moose and some other animals. At the park, you can follow the wooden boardwalks through the forest where you get to see all the Arctic animals in one place. This is a rare opportunity as it is hard to see these animals in nature as the wild areas are so big here in the Finnish Lapland. Your guide has special knowledge of all the animals in the park and will share it with you. The animals you can spot include: polar bears, brown bears (not in winter though, as they are hibernating), predatory birds, owls, wild boars, musk oxen, otters, Arctic foxes, reindeer and wild reindeer, wolverines, moose, etc. Once you have finished your nice 2,5 kilometres walk around the park, we will relax and enjoy a buffet lunch at the restaurant before driving back to Rovaniemi.

It was a spectacular experience. The entire Ranua zoo walk and sighting the arctic animals was simply amazing. Our tour guide, Daniel went out of his way to make my 10 year old son and me feel welcome and safe. He patiently handled all my son’s questions and made sure my son spots each and every animal mentioned in the list. Thank you for your hospitality Daniel.

We had a fantastic visit to Ranua Wildlife Park with Tim. We loved seeing the different animals and learning about their habitats. Tim was very friendly and provided us with a lot of information. He made it really fun and we had enough time to enjoy ourselves and take wonderful pictures. It was a great experience.

Had a lovely day at Ranua but disappointed we didn’t get to see some of the animals, especially the Polar Bear

It was a very relaxed trip (also suitable for children) with 6 participants plus guide Ana. The group size is - as always with Wild About Lapland - to be emphasized, because in a small group of max. 8 people plus guide it is much more personal and individual (no mass processing, as we experienced with another operator with 20 to 40 people [booked through the travel agency]). Our guide Ana was great! She knew the animals by name and could tell their story (where does the animal come from, why is it here). Ana also sometimes used calls to attract the animals and lure them over to us. She also knew the names of the animals. All in all, it was a great and relaxed day. We would/will happily go on tour with this operator again at any time. Thank you very much for your extraordinary commitment, from the reception in the local office) as well as before and during the tours - that is really remarkable!

We did the tour even it was just the two of us. Our guide and Emily was very good in spoting the animals and tells us a lot about them. Afterwards she showed us videos of the animals we didn’t seen. Because we were just a little group our guide took a lot of time to show us the zoo.

We knew we were visiting in low season but it was a treat to basically get a private tour of the park! Our guide was knowledgeable and knew where to spot the animals. Lunch was great. Transportation was comfortable. It was an all around good experience.

Seeing Arctic animals and birds in outdoor enclosures, covered in snow, was amazing. It was as close as seeing them in their natural environment as you could get. I felt like I was walking around a zoo in Narnia. The park is a reasonable size and took about 90 minutes to walk slowly around. Our Spanish guide, his name is William translated to English, escorted us around the park pointing out the animals and giving information as we went. He was very good and interesting to talk to. As you walk fairly slowly around I found that by the end of the tour I was getting quite cold so make sure you have sufficient warm clothes or take the offer of the tour company overalls and boots.

From the first moment we entered the company's office we felt their love for profession and caring super attitude. The equipment was excellent, the professional and pleasant guides, the fascinating zoo with countless Arctic animals and the headline is a fascinating tour of the Northern Lights with the wonderful Eagles! If you are in Belfast you will choose this company's trips.

I've visited Rovaniemi with my family (+5 year child) and it was very important for us to take tours that will be interesting for our child. Wild about Lapland proposed the trip to Ranua Wildlife Park and we also had a Hunting Northern Lights by Reindeers tour booked for the evening. That was a blast!! Our child enjoyed both tours very much, as did we. In Ranua park, the preservation center, you can see a lot of different article animals - polar bear, polar fox, wolves, wolverines, owls, and many more. Some of the animals were rescued and now live in the park. This is not a zoo, it is a big territory where you can observe all the animals, very interesting. This tour also included lunch, so it was a nice addition. Later in the evening, we attended another tour with Wild About Lapland - the Northern Light Reindeer hunt, That was amazing! We went to a farm with reindeer and they told us a lot about the life of the animals on the farm and how they are breed. Riding on the reindeer on the frozen lake and hearing only to the sound of the forest and steps of the animals - super cute. If you are lucky - you will see the glimpse of the northen lights as well!
