They are awesome!! 10/10 would recommend. They value your safety over everything else. Unfortunately my overnight tour was canceled due to not enough bookings, so they offered me the day hike option, but due to the avalanche warnings they canceled that as well. They were extremely amenable and offered me a via Ferrata tour. While doing that Henki, said we could have done the trolltunga with the current weather conditions. He offered me to do the hike the following day. The man is a unit. Conditions were not close to ideal. Henki and pushed through the weather and made it there. I never felt unsafe and he is a skilled hiker. We went toe-to-toe with the conditions and overcame. Not an ideal hike, but still epic! Henki is serially the best guide I have ever had and can outpace even the most experienced hiker. These guys were accommodating, knowledgeable, and professional. I will come back to see Trolltunga in a better season and will book through them again!

Winter Wonderland! Incredible Trolltunga Winter Hike with Trolltunga Active and made all the more enjoyable thanks to their guide Henki Van Bree - a funny and engaging person. It shouldn't be too challenging for anyone with good level of fitness and note that we had excellent weather. It's the mountains so weather can change rapidly. Be prepared with correct gear and mindset. Take plenty of food, you'll burn off a lot of calories. The 3 of us had the hike to ourselves. Deafening silence. Immense beauty. Trolltunga itself was spectacular. You can see why 90,000 hike it each year....go in winter! I took the package with the Trolltunga Hotel which indicated a 10% discount. This is nonsense as the price worked out the same if I booked independently. Additionally, the website mentions taking snowracers down from P3 to P2 and this didn't happened. Logistically, I don't see how it could. But these last two points did not detract from a fabulous day out in the mountains. I felt alive, full of wonderment and in my happy place. Highly recommended .

I have emailed twice prior to writing this review, and all discourse has been ignored, which reinforces my statement: Trolltunga Active are unprofessional and irresponsible. I want to give context to the trip: The trip was expensive, for a number of reasons: travel to and from Odda, accomodation in Odda and the trip itself. All of which is understandable, if you are to receive the experience that is advertised on the website. Our trip on 27/12/25 was cut severely short, of which, was down to the shortcomings of the guide, and by extension the organisation. On the website, when booking, it outlines a list of important factors that should be considered before booking on a trip of this magnitude. They provide a list of suitable clothing, what to carry, and requirements that all members should agree to. It is all 'suggested' that members attend the safety briefing the night before, where once again they provide a list of equipment. At this point, you also recievie a participant waiver/contract, which all members are expected to complete and return the following morning. However, this is where the issues began. 1. The briefing is not mandatory, and therefore the company do not have the opportunity to discuss all concerns fully, prior to the trip commencing. 2. All members of the group did not complete the participant waiver, and subsequently, we're not expected to hand this in the following morning. This is concerning, as this obligatory contract held little to no importance to the guide. 3. Members of the group arrived visibly unequipped for the conditions, as they were allowed to book hours before the trip commencing. Members of the group arrived wearing: Jeans, Ugg Boots and Vans trainers and were expected to scale 800 meters in some of the most treacherous conditions. 4. It was not enforced by the guide that the group were expected to rent equipment, or that they would be turned away through poor preparation. 5. The guide was supposed to provide hiking poles as part of the equipment the company offer, but this did not happen. Perhaps the most important factor that resulted in our walk ending prematurely, was the fact that there was only one guide for a group of eight people. On every organised hike I ever been on, there has always been two guides available, on the grounds of safety. Two hours into the hike, one member of the group was having an issue, due to their failure in preparation. In hindsight, this group member should have never been allowed to start the walk, and by the company's own admission, should have been refused. However, because there was only one guide available, the entire group were made to turn around. To make matters worse, the guide mentioned to other members of the group that they could join a trip the following morning, where they would have two guides available. The hike lasted a meager three and half hours in total. Of which, two hours of that was spent walking up a road. We barely got further than civilisation before we were turned back in favourable weather conditions, for the simple fact that the guide did not challenge the group on their attire/clothing. This, a reckless and unsafe error. My partner and I spent £280 on this organised hike, for a frustrating, and quite frankly laughable experience. I would avoid booking with this company, who in my opinion, simply want an easy pay-day. My partner and I would have had more scaling Trolltunga by ourselves.
