A fantastic way to explore with a local! Your guide will pick you up from an Ayia Napa / Protaras location of your choice & you’ll be driven into the Troodos mountain countryside to the house of a local village lady to learn the traditional technique of halloumi & anari cheese-making. This small group activity will start at the farm of our host where participants can learn how to milk the animals (goats & sheep) to collect their very own fresh milk. A tour of the cheese-making premises will follow where you'll be put to work to make your fresh halloumi cheese! This hands-on workshop ends with a traditional sit-down experience where you'll enjoy a delicious brunch which will include the cheeses made plus lots more. We'll then continue our journey into the scenic mountain villages to visit a honey producer, traditional sweets workshop and a local making products with donkey milk. Part of our touring will be a visit to Lefkara village where you’ll see the local ladies making the famous Cyprus lace plus time to shop & explore. We went on the halloumi making tour in October. Our tour guide, Helena, was excellent company. She was very knowledgable about Cypriot history and culture. She is very warm and friendly and really cared that we all had a great experience. We managed to pack so many activities and learnings into one trip. We visited a family in the mountains who product their own halloumi and had a chance to give some hands-on help. We also visited a donkey sanctuary, an olive farm, and Lefkara. At each stop we got to try some local treats and learn some history about Cyprus. Helena drove us to each place in a comfortable and air conditioned vehicle. We have been to Cyprus many many times but never have been on a trip like this - it was very good value for money. Next time we're back, we will check out the other tours offered by Cyprus Taste Tours.

My friend and I booked the Halloumi Heaven tour with Cyprus Taste Tours while staying in Protaras, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! Big thanks to the team for arranging transport to Larnaca – it made joining the tour effortless. With just six of us including our lovely host, it was a fun and intimate experience from start to finish. Georgina was the perfect blend of friendly guide and storyteller – knowledgeable, chatty, and hilarious! She shared insider tales and snapped photos throughout the day. You could tell she really loves what she does and considers the group she works with as her family during the time she’s with them. This experience was WAY more than just making some cheese. Like, seriously. We did weeks’ worth of stuff in one day. Highlights in a nutshell: - A visit to a traditional halloumi maker, where we helped make some cheese and later got to taste it warm and fresh during a lovely Cypriot brunch. It was everything. Salty, squeaky, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. - A change to milk some goats and cuddle a baby one. CUTE. - A walk through a peaceful olive grove, complete with tasting rich olive oils, dips, and other olive products, and admiring an ancient ~800-year-old olive tree. The green olive paste was to die for. - Time at a donkey sanctuary, where we got to feed and meet the animals (yes, even baby donkeys!) and sample some quirky donkey milk products. Don’t knock it ‘til you try it lol - A stop at a local honey producer, where we learned all about bees and beekeeping and sampled a variety of honeys and bee pollen. No hive visit, but plenty of golden goodness! - A short stroll through Lefkara village, famous for its lace and silver, with time to browse the little shops and enjoy the mountain scenery. Every stop felt intimate and genuine. No tourist traps. By the end of the day we were full, happy, and thoroughly impressed by how much we learned. Not just about food, but about Cyprus itself. Highly recommend this tour to any foodies, cheese lovers, or anyone who wants a break from the beach and a chance to connect with authentic Cypriot culture.

We had a fantastic day on the halloumi and Troodos villages tour. Our guide, Georgina, was lovely! She was really knowledgeable and clearly had great connections with the locals, which made each stop more interesting. Making the halloumi was definitely the highlight. We also got to taste the halloumi that we made, freshly formed and still warm, which was even more delicious! Would definitely recommend!

A must-do! Panicos was an excellent guide. My grandparents were from Cyprus, and this was like a homecoming for me and my family. If you have never had fresh halloumi or anari, you don’t know what you’re missing Halloumi-making was only one highlight of the tour.

Great tour experience. Especially Loulla’s home haloumi making. Our tour guide Demi was so well informed and very friendly. We really enjoyed the day. Thanks in no small part to Demi. What lovely young lady!

We were very lucky as my wife and I had the lovely Demi all to ourselves, no doubt because of the trip being in late November. After being picked up from our hotel by Mr Mamos, a true gentlemen, who was spot on time, we travelled to Larnaca to meet up with Demi who took us on our excursion. We had an amazing time meeting local people who were so friendly, Demi was very knowledgeable and at no time did we feel pressurised as she moved from location to location at a nice steady relaxing pace. We would definitely recommend to anyone as you see so much of the real life of the lovely Cypriot people in their lovely homes.

This was a great trip from start to finish - the halloumi making was great fun and we very much enjoyed sampling the halloumi and anari cheeses (and multiple other foods - don't eat beforehand!). I won't spoil the rest of the tour as there are some lovely surprises in there - it is a full day and a busy one, but we found that the time absolutely flew by. We had a great group of just 6 of us and Panicos was our guide - he was good fun and very passionate about Cypriot food and wine. You could tell he enjoys his job and enjoys sharing information with the tour groups. The booking, pickup and entire process was very smooth and well organised. If we return to Cyprus we will take in a wine tour or another offered by CTT - I recommend them for any such type of trip.
