  This hunting truffle experience with Alessandro was an amazing experience for me, my mom, my husband, and my aunt and uncle! We enjoyed learning about truffle hunting and watching Moka find 6 truffles. Brava, Moka! I will note to wear good shoes for walking in mud! My mom also has a bad knee and walking up the hill at the end was difficult for her. Our tour group was a larger group than normal, which Alessandro acknowledged and apologized for; however, the experience still felt close and personal, especially once we met up in his truffle shop in downtown Siena. Alessandro served us multiple dishes that showcased the truffle, and we were able to purchase many truffle products, including a fresh white truffle that we used for homemade Cacio e Pepe on New Year’s Eve. I would highly recommend doing this tour! It was one of the highlights of my 3 week Italian trip. Grazie Mille, Alessandro!

  We had a wonderful truffle hunting experience with just my family, Alessandro, Moka and Tatiana - on a beautiful winter morning it was the best way to start our day! Alessandro and Tatiana were knowledgeable and provided lots of interesting information about truffles and the dogs that find them. Moka was incredible as she found 5-6 large white truffles and several black (brava Moka!) The tasting of delicious truffle products back at Alessandro’s shop topped off a great morning. Many thanks to Alessandro for also arranging a booking at Osteria Babazuf to taste white truffles with pasta - it was a great recommendation. Grazie Mille!

  If you’re into food or the outdoors, or both, you can’t miss this! Alessandro is so warm and friendly and his dogs are sweet, playful and extremely talented. Mocha is a sweet girl with a serious work ethic, she found both black and white truffles super fast and was a delight to watch work. The tasting afterwards at the shop was delicious and the lady running it for us was hilarious and a local explaining many cultural events and traditions to us in depth. We would highly recommend going, but be sure to wear shoes you can get wet or muddy that have good grips!

  In our world, and maybe the world, truffles are a form of actual biological magic. To have the opportunity to walk through the woods near Siena, with Alessandro and Freddy his truffle dog, was something dreams are made of. Laughing and learning, kind and so knowledgeable, in a unique and natural place, was something I will always treasure. Highest recommendation. We loved this adventure… xo

  It was such a pleasure to learn from, listen to and ask questions to Alessandro and his assistants! My fiancé and I love truffles but didn’t know all the specific facts about how they grow and where, it was very neat! It’s very close to downtown Siena and the truffle shop is right in the heart of Siena!! We loved everything we tasted and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Would 100% recommend especially to get away from crowds for a little bit. Also, Mocha was adorable and would barely let Alessandro speak before she found another one.   Alex did an amazing job showing us how it is done. He is so knowledgeable and passionate which made the experience so much fun. His dog Moca was the real star of the day. I have a much greater appreciation for truffles and can see why they are expensive.

  We had a lovely morning hunting truffles with Moka and Alessandro. It was a fun activity to do with our kids who range in age from 9 to 19. it’s a very nice complement to other sightseeing that is done in the Siena area. My only suggestion is to bring bug spray. We are from Colorado and sometimes forget that there will be some mosquitos.

  A great experience in Siena. Allejandro and Mocha were wonderful and the truffle hunting in the city was fun. Sara in the square was amazing and taught us all about the Paleo. This experience made us fall in love with Siena!

  We had an amazing truffle hunt with Alessandro and Mocha. It was a very short time in the car before we were in the woods hunting truffles. Alessandro is a master at his craft and educated us a great deal before and during the hunt on what to look for. Mocha knew her assignment and is an elite truffle hunting dog. We found over 15 truffles in a little over an hour. Afterwards we went back to Alessandro’s shop to taste over 10 snacks paired with truffle products that Alessandro sells and paired with Prosecco. Sara was Alessandro’s employee that served us and educated us on the products. She is a die hard Senese and has a lot of passion for her city and her job.
