Temple Of Sri Kailawasanathan Swami Devasthanam Kovil
Sri Kailasanathar Swami Devasthanam is one of the oldest and most significant Hindu temples in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is known for its stunning Dravidian-style architecture, vibrant sculptures, and intricate carvings. The temple, believed to be over two centuries old, serves as a spiritual hub for the Tamil Hindu community. It features a towering gopuram adorned with colorful deities, depicting Hindu mythology. Devotees visit to seek blessings, perform rituals, and celebrate major festivals like Maha Shivaratri. The temple also conducts daily poojas, attracting both worshippers and tourists. Located in Colombo’s bustling Pettah area, Sri Kailasanathar Swami Devasthanam stands as a symbol of faith, heritage, and devotion amidst the city's urban landscape.
Lotus Tower is a 350 m (1,150 ft) tall tower, located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It has been called a symbolic landmark of Sri Lankas's of 2019, the tower is the tallest self-supported structure in South Asia; the second tallest structure in South Asia after the guy-wire-supported INS Kattabomman in India; the 11th tallest tower in Asia and the 19th tallest tower in the world.It was first proposed to be built in the suburb of Peliyagoda but later the Government of Sri Lanka decided to change the location.The lotus-shaped tower is used for communication, observation and other leisure facilities. Construction is estimated to have cost USD 113 million.

5.00The four-hour tuk-tuk tour was really quick. It was great that I was able to efficiently do a lot that I couldn't turn on my own in this time. The tuk-tuk driver guide is very kind and polite. They were flexible in their wishes and I could enjoy it with peace of mind. I was especially grateful that they were willing to pay for us to stop by the Lotus Tower, and that they were willing to accept such requests. This tour is probably a private one, but it is a good idea to check it when you apply, just in case. Part of the appeal is that you can flexibly arrange things by telling them in advance what you want. Anyway, before I knew it, it was four hours. If you want to see Colombo efficiently, this tour is definitely recommended. By the way, in my case, I've probably been to places like this (sorry if I'm a little different): • War Memorial • Independence Memorial Hall + Museum (wax display) • Colombo Town Hall • Vihara Maha Devi Park (Golden Buddha statue) • Gangaramaya Temple + display of pagodas, Buddhist statues and classic cars • Falun Monument & Metal Elephant • Colombo Fort Station (Station Building & Steam Locomotive Display) • Sri Kailasanatar Swami Hindu Temple • Includes Lotus Tower Observatory • Zylen Tea Shop (Buy BOP Tea) • Khan Clock Tower • National Museum • Red brick buildings (such as the former Cargills Building) • Fire Station (with Japanese support vehicle display) • Remains of a Dutch-ruled building (church ruins) • Dinner at a local restaurant (Kottu)

5.00Lots of fun dashing through the traffic of Colombo in a tuk tuk. Guides were very good and we saw so much in just a few hours, but never felt rushed at any of the sites. Lunch was very good.

5.00I was traveling with my grandson and we booked this tuktuk tour to be able to see all of the Colombo highlights and oh my goodness, we were blown away with the incredible amount of things were were able to experience in a short time! Mr. David was such an experienced photographer that he captured our memories perfectly. If you have anytime in Colombo, this tour is a MUST!!
