What To Expect
Tirta Empul Temple
At Tirta Empul Temple, your guide will introduce you to the sacred purification ritual that Balinese Hindus have practiced for centuries. After receiving a sarong and sash, you’ll be guided to the holy springs where locals come to cleanse body and soul. Your guide will explain the meaning of each water spout, show you how to make a simple offering, and lead you step by step through the ritual of prayer and purification. You will then immerse yourself in the crystal-clear spring water, moving from spout to spout in a mindful and spiritual process. This experience offers not only cultural insight but also a personal moment of reflection and renewal.

5.00Visiting the Tirta Empul Temple was a wonderful experience made better by my tour guide Koman who walked me and another visitor through the temple and explained to us each of the areas, their meaning / significance, and the proper ways to ask for permission at the beginning, the steps and process for each part of the cleanse, and the history of the area / temple itself. The two hours went by incredibly quickly; and he captured all the key moments in fotos and video!! Thank you Koman!!!

He also took great pictures and videos for memories! Then he walked us through the temple as answered every question we had about the culture of Balinese people.

5.00I was the only person signed up for the 8:30 session and felt lucky to have a private tour with Koman as my guide! He explained in detail the significance of each fountain in the purification ceremony, and more importantly, how to do each step respectfully and in accordance with tradition. He will take many photos for you, if you’d like. The entire experience lasted about 1.5 hours; morning time is best to beat crowds. Tirta Empul is a must-see temple near Ubud and I am grateful to Korman for such an enlightening experience. Thanks again! :)
