At the Udawalawa Elephant Transit Home (Orphanage), located on the B427 in Udawalawa, travelers will witness Sri Lanka’s efforts in elephant conservation. This ethical facility cares for orphaned and injured baby elephants, nurturing them until they are ready to be released into the wild. The highlight is the feeding sessions, where travelers can observe baby elephants gathering for their milk—a heartwarming sight offering a close view of these gentle giants. Surrounded by the lush landscapes near Udawalawe National Park, the Transit Home provides a serene setting perfect for nature lovers and photographers.     Udawalawa Wild Life Safari: The BEST company to choose for a safari! This was a once in a lifetime experience. Wonderful friendly, knowledgeable guide. Great communication prior to safari. Safe and comfortable safari vehicle. Amazing attention to detail. Nice lunch and beverages. Searched out and found all the animals. This outfit goes above and beyond. FIVE STARS!!!!     We did a half-day safari and it was quite wonderful. Our guide always had the perfect spot and we could see so many animals up close. He also has a great knowledge of the animals and answered questions at all times. We had breakfast in the park and were provided with water and juice. We would recommend the tour at any time.

    We took the safari day trip (11h) arranged by Anju with safari guide Patum and it was just perfect. We got a lovely breakfast inside the park and in the afternoon also lunch. During the tour there was always cold water and we got coconut to drink. And we saw plenty of elephants, buffalos, lizzards, deers, two kinds of monkeys, birds and much more! All that in very reasonable price. Totally recommended!! Everything was taken care of.

    It was a really cool experience and I can recommend everyone who tracels to sri lanka to do a safari in udawalawa. The pickup from our accomendation went perfect and our kind driver showed us lot‘s of wildlife animals. My highlight was to see lot‘s of elephants single or in groups. The breakfast tasted well and was extra cool to take it in the middle of the park:)

    We went on safari with a friend and the truth was amazing. We did a 7h safari with breakfast included at a very good price. We had the opportunity to see elephants, crocodiles, buffalo, monkeys, all kinds of birds and much more. Both the person who managed it and the driver of the Jeep were very nice people and made possible one of the best days of our lives. Thank you Anju and Lasindu!

    Good Safari offer with a fair price. We had the half day safari and the breakfast was included. Off-Season so it was never crowded and we were shown different areas by an experienced driver. But beware: the streets in the park are very bumpy so you will be well shaken through at the end.
