I found Primate World Safaris after knowing I wanted gorilla trekking to be the star in my next trip to Africa. Planning the trip was easy, Christine answered all of my questions and helped me make sure the trip had everything I wanted. My driver/guide, Ashiraf, was great and kept me informed on what everyday would bring and did everything he could to ensure I had opportunities for photos and encounters with each animal I wanted to see. Uganda is a stunning country with incredible people and wildlife to enjoy. I couldn’t recommend Primate World more.

What an incredible safari and cultural experience! Geofry our tour guide/driver welcomed us and treated us as family. He led some game drives, offering expert info on the animals. The chimp and gorilla treks are led by specialty guides. Local guides provided community tours to glimpse a piece of local culture. The accommodations in various lodges offered a quiet respite from a busy to relax in one of the lounge areas or in the pool (not all have pools.) Bedrooms all showed a Ugandan flare in decor, with big towels, hot water in walk in showers, comfy beds and mosquito nets. Local foods and international cuisine were excellent quality, form matooke (plantain) serve with chicken or beef, tenderloin perfectly cooked to medum rare, great breakfasts with made to order eggs, pancakes, and proteins. Fresh veggies and fresh fruits, too. Geofry quicly learned our interests and offered activities, such as watching crafts. What an incredible life-impacting experence!!!

Having just completed this tour, I amazed and delighted at what a wonderful experience we had. From the first moment we met our tour guide, Geoffrey, we were treated like family. All of our needs and desires were addressed and delivered. From the amazing experiences trekking with chimpanzees and gorillas to our community interactions, every piece of the trip was fulfilling and exceeded our expectations. Our lodging was excellent, food delicious and plentiful and our experiences authentic. From help with our baggage to a clean and well appointed safari vehicle, every detail was thoughtfully delivered. The animals we saw did not disappoint. We saw them close up and were not wanting for viewing opportunities. Our, guide/driver was exceptional and some of the local guides provided additional interesting insights. It was fascinating, fulfilling and altogether fabulous experience. I highly recommended both this tour and this first rate company.

This holiday was the experience of a lifetime - Uganda is an amazing country, rich in wildlife and with vibrant and welcoming local communities. So many highlights, gorilla trekking, a visit to the Rhino conservation project (complete with walking safari) and trekking Chimpanzees. I cannot recommend Primate World Safaris enough, 5 star treatment the entire time we were there and an amazing itinerary. Accommodation was superb as was the food and the welcome at the various lodges where we stayed. Thank you to Jackson and his team.

I can’t thank enough Jackson for the whole itinerary planning and my travel guide and buddy Geoffrey (commonly known as George) for the unforgettable trip! Every aspect of the trip was carefully tailored, from the activities and time schedules to the accommodation options and road travel. Apart from the safari & gorilla trek kings, the itinerary included many activities aimed to experience the Ugandan culture and engage with the local communities. The lodges were excellent and the activities exceeded my expectations. Geoffrey is a very knowledgable guide and knows every region of Uganda inside out! He even made additions and adjustments to the initial itinerary depending on my preferences! You can definitely rely on Primate World Safaris to organise an unforgettable trip based on your specific requirements! I’m really looking forward to my next Uganda visit to explore the rest of the country with Primate World Safaris! Thanks again Jackson & Jeffrey!

There were several memorable highlights including chimpanzee tracking, gorilla tracking and boat trip on Kazinga Channel. My driver/guide George made a solo travel experience as an older woman feel friendly, safe and interesting every day. Manager Jackson organised this trip really well and there were no travel or accommodation setbacks.

We had an unbelievable stay in Uganda where we spent 12-days. We felt completely safe and well looked after by our fabulous guide, Remmy, In addition to taking us to see the chimpanzees, gorilla and game safaris, we also visited basket weavers, a local village as well as had a Kampala city tour and a boat tour to the Mabamba swamp in Lake Victoria. Our accommodations were great, food delicious, jeez comfortable and pacing perfect. AND we also went white water rafting on the Nile!

This was one of the best family holidays we have ever had. Throughout the booking process Jackson was so responsive - coming up with ideas as to how we could fit in all the things that we wanted to do. We were met in Kigali by our driver Alex who drove us for the next 11 days. He was such a lovely man - very clear at the end of each day as to what we would be doing and seeing the following day and what we needed to wear or bring. Jackson met us in Kigali and indeed we met him a number of times including Bwindi and Kampala. He is such a lovely man - passionate about conservation and ensuring that the communities of Uganda are able to thrive alongside the wildlife. We started in Kigali to go to the genocide museum - such a moving experience - very upsetting at times but should definitely be visited. The rest of our time with Alex was then in Uganda where we saw and did so much. The highlight by far was trekking to see the mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - always been on the bucket list and did not disappoint - spending so much time with such beautiful animals was something I will never forget. Queen Elizabeth National Park was lovely - saw some game but the boat trip on the Kazinga Channel was excellent - hippos, crocs and elephants as well as so many beautiful birds. From there we very much enjoyed the walking around Fort Portal and it’s spectacular crater lakes before staying in the beautiful Papaya Lodge where the food (and gin cart) were excellent. Trekking to see the chimpanzees in the Kibale Forest was good but not as great as the gorillas and a lot of time spent staring up at the top of trees - seeing so many other primates was enjoyable though. In both Bwindi and Kibale we visited local communities to better understand how they lived in light of the changes that have happened to their environments - humbling to see just how much some people had achieved especially at Ride 4 A Woman in BwindI (check it out). From one wonderful lodge at Papaya we went to another in Lake Mburo National Park called Mihingo. Perfect setting overlooking waterholes and again the food was excellent. Walking safaris, so many zebras and a beautiful lake trip were the highlights here. Finished off in Kampala and whitewater rafting in Jinja - great fun. We absolutely loved Uganda - the people, the lodges, the food and the sights - and Jackson and Alex helped make it such a a special trip. We then ended the holiday with three days in Masai Mara where we saw so much game. So overall could not recommend more highly Jackson, Alex and Primate World Safaris

My 10 days in Uganda were very pleasant and even better than I had expected. Jackson had been very responsive, had always been super prompt in answering all my questions and concerns during the planning stage. Leticia is an exceptionally good driver/guide who is super knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend time with. The various national parks were full of great animals and the gorillas were a true adventure. Due to age and infirmity I had arranged to be carried in order to see the gorillas. It was the adventure of a lifetime! Primate World Safaris delivered everything that had been promised and I would certainly recommend them for anybody wanting to visit 'the Pearl of Africa'.

Amazing trip thanks to Primate World Safaris. Jackson is awesome and provides a 5star service. He’s professional, efficient, happy to answer daft queries and super friendly. We were delighted to meet him early in our trip after all our correspondence it was fabulous to meet this incredible guy! The itinerary suited us perfectly with a great variety we went for luxury accommodation which at times was out of this world, especially Ndali and Mihingo Lodges. Food was incredible throughout the trip. Alex, our guide and driver, did a wonderful job providing safe travel on the crazy roads and a wealth of information and knowledge. Always a clean car and plenty of fresh water! He ensured we had an amazing trip and understood that seeing the mtn gorillas was my lifetime dream so made sure I had the best day ever! I hadn’t anticipated the joy of human interactions as much, (I was so busy dreaming of the wildlife!) but one of my favourite things about the trip was spending time with the guides, trackers and staff. We went in “rainy “ season but it wasn’t an issue. Just meant it was cheaper and quieter. Often we were the only vehicle around on Safaris. My only slight regret was not doing an eve Safaris but apart from that the trip was more than I could have ever hoped for. Tip: Take plenty of money for tips on the treks. Wear sunblock on water rafting. Immerse yourself in the humour and amazing hospitality. Enjoy precious time with the wildlife. Ensure you’re fit. Long sleeves and trousers. Be prepared- use the kit list. Be amazed. Uganda I miss you and hope to be back on your amazing fertile green lands one day. Primate World Safaris thank you! Keep up the awesome work!
