An excellent day tour of the highlands. The weather was exceptional and Alex was amazing. He provided extensive info about the places we visited and kept a lively conversation throughout. He even took us on small but fantastic detour to Innis Bhuidhe. His knowledge of Scottish history was very helpful and entertaining. Would definitely recommend and perhaps do a longer tour on a return visit.

Three top takeaways from this trip: 1. Ask for Alex, he’s a great guide! 2. Yes, the Coos are worth the trip! 3. It’s simply a beautiful tour! My wife and I took this excellent 1 Day tour from Edinburgh to Glencoe and back in mid March. The weather was cool, some clouds here and there, but the history and the beauty of the scenery made up for any lack of sunshine. Alex, our tour guide, was the perfect driver and guide for the day. From the moment he smoothly moved us out into Edinburgh’s morning traffic to the drop off at the end of the day at our agreed hotel - he provided us history, stories and personal experiences that made the tour special. The history was interesting, the view as we climbed up into the Highlands was simply breathtaking. The photo opportunities were many and Alex made sure we stopped at the best points along the way, tying each photo into the story of the people, the land and how the two came together to make Scotland the country it is today. From Highland Coos, across the otherworldly landscape of Rannoch Moor, a stop to see the deer at the Kingshouse and a brief side quest to Hagrid’s House the day quickly swept by and we were soon at the Glencoe Visitor Center. There we stood beside a lone turf and creel house, looked down the valley of the long lost MacDonald’s and wondered that such a terrible fate could befall those who lived in such beauty. On our way back we made a side tour to the Falls of Dochart and were captivated by the falls and the otherworldly entrance, which stand in ruins, to the Clan MacNab Burial Grounds. From the falls, Alex made sure we arrived at the Kelpies just as the sun slipped through the clouds and illuminated their silvery hides with a soft yellow light. There’s no photo that can beat standing there beneath the giant Kelpies as the last rays of day slip into evening. Perfect ending to a perfect day. Thanks Alex!

My girlfriend and I embarked on a day tour through Scotland, and it was an unforgettable experience! Our guide, Ricky, was fantastic—punctual, professional, and absolutely personable. He made us feel at ease right from the start and truly showcased his passion for Scotland. Ricky’s extensive knowledge brought the history and culture to life, and he was incredibly flexible, tailoring the itinerary to suit our interests. From the stunning landscapes to hidden gems, every moment was a delight. As first-time visitors to Scotland, we couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to this beautiful country. The day was filled with breathtaking sights and engaging stories, and I can't recommend this tour enough. If you're looking to explore Scotland with a knowledgeable and amiable guide, Uncover Scotland Tours is the way to go! Thank you, Ricky, for making our day so special!

We had a great day touring out to the Highlands from Edinburgh with Alex. The ride was so comfortable and he was a wealth of information about all the sites we visited, we really enjoyed hearing about the history and folklore of the area. The weather was typically Scottish, but we didn't mind and the views were incredible. Highly recommend this as a day trip through the countryside.

We had a fantastic day travelling through Scotland from East to west and back again. Alex, our guide, had loads of stories about history, whisky, Scottish clans and whatever you like to talk about! Extremely social and very Scottish :). The scenery is truly beautiful and will remain a great memory for us as a family. We were ages 18-80 and all enjoyed our day. Recommended!!

This was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life! The tour was amazing from start to finish! The vehicle was comfortable and Ricky, our tour guide, held our safety as his first priority (second only to showing us an amazing time)! As a Canadian, you do not have views or history like this and taking in the beauty of the The Three Sisters while listing to the story of the Glenco Massacre is chilling and sends shivers down your spine. Taking in the views of these incredible mountains, makes you feel insurmountable and gives you a perspective of how small you are in the world. The waterfalls at the meet of the three waters was outstanding. A short hike away from the road and you’re in an oasis of streams, waterfalls and mountains. I was able to go into the water and the crisp air paired with the chilled water on a sunny highland day was healing to the soul. Ricky was the best guide and we felt lucky to be paired with him! He was fun, charismatic, and extremely knowledgeable! It was incredible to share in his passion for the Highlands. I genuinely cannot recommend this tour enough. If I am ever able to return to Scotland I will be doing a tour again!
