Piula Cave Pool
Piula Cave Pool on Upolu Island, Samoa, is a beautiful crystal clear freshwater spring that originated from an old lava tube.
To Sua Ocean Trench
To-Sua literally means 'giant swimming hole', 30 metres deep and accessible via a long ladder where a long platform sits for easy access in the pool. Inside is a cave that leads to the open sea and is recommended for skilled divers. It is surrounded by beautiful native gardens and a spectacular view ideal for weddings, photoshoots and more. Overlooking the ocean is a small beach known as Fagaoneone meaning white sand, while opposite you can find a lava field with blowholes, mini pools and good fishing spots. If you're visiting during mid-September to November you may even be lucky enough to see a few whales coasting by. This is an absolute must-see place to visit while on holiday in Samoa.

Fantastic day in Samoa with Shawn & Janette touring the island & swimming! There were 7 of us from the cruise ship. We were picked up right as we got off the ship & drove around in an air conditioned van to many highlights of Samoa. They included cold water & snacks. We saw & swam in the refreshing Piula Cave Pool; then the rather adventurous Sua Ocean Trench where you have to go up & down a very steep ladder to swim; next we went to the beautiful Lalomanu beach with a restaurant; on the way back to the port we stopped at the gorgeous Papapapaital Water Fall overlook point; & last a quick drive around the major town, Apia. It was a great day... highly recommend this experience!

Shawn was wonderful. We rode in a spacious air contioned van. Shawn wore a speaker headset so everyone could clearly hear what he shared about his home island. He shared information on the history, current political and cultural situation, typical meal, crops, customs and more. We arrived on a Sunday when almost everything is closed. Our cruise ship also didn't arrive until 1 o'clock in the afternoon which cut our visit short. However, Shawn had it scheduled so we never felt rushed and had plenty of time to visit all the sights. He supplied cold water and local banana and taro chips. They were delicious! Shawn even took pictures of us and emailed them to me later that night. I strongly reccomend this activity. We fell in love with Samoa.

As we got off the ship they were very easy to find as they previously sent photos. The tour was very informative and enough time spent at each stop. Would highly recommend them!!!

Great tour ! Has really been one of our favorites . Locals who take you to wonderful spots around the whole island ! Be sure to swim the in cave pond . Water was cool , deeper than it looks , so clear . The trench is def an experience , there is a current there since fresh salt water so be aware . It is quit a climb in and out . The whole area has other things to see too . The beach was a wonderful stop too . Our group was earlier to the shuttle so we were able to stop at Cathedral and a couple other spots So don’t wait get there when your ship docks .

We are on a 42 day cruise and this tour has got to be our favorite so far! Jeanette's knowledge of Samoa as we traveled to our adventures was super interesting. The stops were a blast. Swimming in the refreshing spring water of Piula Cave was amazing. Then we got to descend the hefty built ladder down to the ocean trench. A bucket list item, for sure. Then we ate at a marvelous restaurant where they caught our fresh yellow fin tuna that morning. While cooking up our lunch, I got to swim in the beautiful ocean right off the restaurant deck. Next we stopped at an amazing waterfall plunging deep into the lush valley around us. Jeanette took care of our every need, even surprising us with her favorite cinnamon rolls from the local bakery. We couldn't have found a better tour. And no worries...you will get back to the ship with plenty of spare time!

We are a group of 7 friends cruising on the Sapphire Princess. We were seated in a 9 passenger van with a couple from Germany. Janette was our tour guide, we also had the pleasure of meeting her husband Shawn, who was the guide of the other van. (Shawn and Janette are the owners of Surf and Turf Tours). The vans were very nice and comfortable. I had the pleasure of sitting in the passenger seat with Janette as our guide (It was like spending time with a favorite cousin on a road trip) Janette was a great driver and a wonderful tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about Samoa and the people and culture. The stops were absolutely beautiful. We stopped for lunch at a restaurant on gorgeous Tulfua beach. The food was amazing. Most of us ordered the fish and chips, which Janette recommended. We drove by the home and museum of Robert Loius Stevenson and drove thru the town of Apia as we have a little extra time, before Janette returned us safely to our ship. We all agreed on what a wonderful excursion we had with Samoa Surf and Turf. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
