  Loved this tour! Leaders were great, clearly cared about whales and wildlife, were friendly, knowledgable, and fun. Wonderful to see those amazing Fin whales. Loved the boat too.

  We had an amazing time with Rich - he was knowledgeable and really worked for us to see dolphins and whales, which we did!!! Would highly recommend this adventure for your family, will be a wonderful memory to share!

  This was a fun, beautiful tour from Newport. No whales, but we saw a good size pod of common dolphins, including young dolphins. We saw many dolphins close to our boat. It looked like they even swam under our boat. My kids and I enjoyed spending a bit of time with the dolphin pod! We also saw sea lions.

  This is not my first time doing this tour and as always it was wonderful. Captain Delaney and Jenna were so fun and knowledgeable, as well as great communicators. Jenna also took some amazing photos that she shared with us after. Loved this tour.

  For my first trip to California, I couldn’t wait to experience the marine life. Growing up in Corpus Christi, TX, I’ve seen dolphins and sharks, but I had never seen a whale—so this was at the top of my list! After reading so many great reviews, I chose Newport Coastal Adventure, and I’m beyond glad I did. This was truly one of the highlights of my trip—we had an absolute blast! Captain Erica and Sarah were incredible hosts. They were not only knowledgeable about the ocean and marine life, but also genuinely passionate about what they do. You can tell they really care about the animals and their habitat, which made the experience even more meaningful. They also kept everything fun, engaging, and welcoming from start to finish. Seeing whales for the first time was unforgettable, and this experience has already convinced me to plan another trip. I’ve even told my husband we need to come back later this year to see more whale species! Whether you’re planning a date, a family outing, or even a solo adventure, I highly recommend Newport Coastal Adventure’s Ultimate Whale Watching experience. • Super Tour - Highly Recommended

  Gosh - what a super day we had with Ultimate Whale Watching Tour Aboard the SuperRib. First off, we lucked out - the day was just gorgeous; picture clear skies and airplane contrails crisscrossing the azure sky. Molly (our guide) and Dave (the captain) were kind, informative and made each customer on the SuperRib feel welcome. There were 14 customers on the pontoon - a small intimate group as advertised. The SuperRib is the ideal vessel for location whales - fast and nimble. Within five minutes of leaving the Newport Beach Back Bay we spotted a trio of grey whales. Because of the small size of the SuperRib vessel, we were able to get close to the whales and view them as they surfaced and spouted to breathe. Super cool! Then we proceeded to encounter a Common Dolphin pod of hundreds of dolphins. They swam next to the boat seemingly playing with us and providing excellent close up encounters for all of the customers. Then we encountered two fin whales. Dave used a drone to locate the exact position of the whales without disturbing them whatsoever - a super cool way to make certain we were able to position the vessel for the best viewing of these majestic creatures. Finally, as were returning to the Back Bay we stopped to view a colony of sea lions resting upon a buoy - raucous and playful... All in all, this was an excellent tour. I'm certain luck may have played into our experience some what, but Dave's expertise in locating the whales was exceptional as was Molly's narrative regarding the mammals we saw. Five out of five stars. I'd gladly repeat this tour. Highly recommended.

  I had a great time! Captain Erica and Molly were amazing. We were able to see dolphins, and fin whales within the first 30 minutes, and then seals and sea lions. I would definitely book this trip again.
