What To Expect

Kathmandu Durbar Square

In Kathmandu Durbar Square, you will see that many historical and spiritual sites and architectural constructions are in the manner of reconstruction. However, there are nonetheless many explorable places around the area. You will see statues of "Kal Bhairav," "Hanuman" at Hanuman Dhoka, and a miniature mannequin of Pashupatinath temple. Also, you can explore the Kumari Ghar where the living goddesses of Nepal reside. Shanti was a terrific guide—professional and knowledgeable. Throughout the tour she was concerned about our interests and made sure all our questions were answered—always asking if we had any further questions. This tour was exactly what we hoped for expected. All the stops were informative and enjoyable. Shanti and the driver made this a very pleasant and memorable experience that we will cherish for a long time

This private tour was a great way to become familiar with the culture and history of Kathmandu. It was perfectly paced to allow enough time in each location, but also piqued my interest such that I am anxious to return to many sights. My guide, Shanti Karki, was knowledgeable and extremely accommodating, going so far as to climb the 365 stairs of the Swayambunath "Monkey" Temple with me. Every stop was worthwhile and highlights included catching sight of the Royal Kumari at her window, lunch at a rooftop restaurant in Patan Durbar Square, walking the perimeter of Boudanath Stupa, and observing ceremonies at Pashupatinath Temple. I highly recommend this tour and guide.
