We had a great experience! We took our 4 kid, ages 9-15. The trip was smooth and well organized. Our guide took time to explain the science behind the microorganisms and even brought a light blocking cover for our kayaks to really experience the full effect! If possible, try and go on a night with lots of cloud coverage/minimal moonlight. When the clouds covered the moon, the glow was much brighter. Great bucket list item checked off!

Amazing experience, be sure when you book, that you’ve paid attention to the lunar cycles and the weather as much as as possible. Go whenever there is no moon or a new moon.

Very well organized.. wish we had more time to just paddle vs being all connected most of the time but also get that the winds were high and not everyone is an experienced kayaker. Bay was very neat! Stars spectacular! Timon (I think that was his name?) was an amazing guide! Great conversation and wonderful sense of humor.

Tour was well organized but guides were difficult to understand. Would have liked to learn more about the bioluminescence bay and its history. Overpriced for the quality of the tour

Attempted to get a refund and couldn’t get in contact with anyone until the day of scheduled activity. Viator claimed that the tour refused to refund, the tour said Viator was lying and never spoke to them and Viator could issue a refund. Both parties blamed other party. Tour offered me a free excursion for the family if we ever returned to PR due to Viators actions however we live about 7-8 flight hours away so no chance that’ll get occur. Viator said they called the tour to get refund and your owner said they never did, Viator and the tour also didn’t disclose an important detail that a person would be stuck on an island an hour away with later tour. It was all a mess start to finish. We won’t use Viator ever again.

An unforgettable experience! They left us longer than we expected in the water and our guide's explanations were excellent! The only bad thing was that in our group there was a drunk couple who were very reckless with kayaking, I think they should not have allowed them to take the excursion, because they endangered the rest of the group. Except for that, the experience was very good. Ideally, do it on a cloudy or new moon day so that the sky is very dark. We loved it!

Bioluminescence tour excellent trip to see. Place to visit during moonless night is the best time to plan. Clear sky and star viewing is fun too

This company was by far our least favorite of the tours we have taken. The guide spoke extremely poor English. We are bilingual Spanish and English speakers and we couldn't understand our guide. Also he used very bright lights and it made it hard for our eyes to adjust to the bioluminescence

Kayak experience was nice and company did provide equipment and tour guide. We did see “glowing water”. No fish really. Clear beautiful sky. The catch - the timers don’t include any basics. For ex. You need ferry tickets to the island which may sell out. They only see a certain amount online and then you’d have to go to ferry and hope they have some. We stayed in San Juan. Ferry is 1.5 hours away approx. the ferry dos not allow rental cars. When you arrive at ferry you are 10 min drive away from meeting place. They should have included transportation to their pick up spot !! - which was called “abandoned lot” - did not make it easy to describe to a taxi. Which is exactly how we got there and back. We really had to figure it out as we went and all of the participants were really worried we’d miss the ferry out off the island which would leave us with no where to sleep. Maybe I’m a worrier , but I expected more logistical help with details and feel the tour was expecting too much from visitors to figure this all out.
