We had an excellent afternoon with Brian. He started our walking tour at the top of a 42 story building nearby, with an open air deck. Got our bearings about various landmarks in Vancouver and where we would ultimately be exploring. Brian knows so much about Vancouver and we really enjoyed his company and commentary! There were only 3 of us on the tour, so we could have lots of conversation with Brian as we walked to our destinations. Great food and beverages all around and definitely places we would not have discovered on our own. Burgers, cookies, ice cream, beer and cocktails!

Fantastic tour with a very knowledgeable guide who can tell you not only about the food but about the city, the sports, Canadian politics, and fun things to do during your stay. Some great views of the city and interesting non-food sites mixed in— I really felt like I was getting a city tour as well as a food tour, at least of the 3-4 neighborhoods be covered. Good ratio of walking to eating so that you were always just the right level of hungry for the next stop.

It was a very rainy day with many people deciding to stay in as our guide, Brian Feldbloom, a very knowledgeable individual about the Vancouver area stated that we would get a private tour. Brian provided a taste of the city at places that were local knowledge. We started at Timbertrain Coffee Roasters in Gastown. It’s a small shop with very friendly staff, great coffee and excellent chocolate chip cookies. We were provided a chocolate chip, popcorn and marshmallow. An interesting take that was very good. As we were out and about walking, we went to the top of an apartment building, name escapes me, where we enjoyed the cookie and an birdseye view of the inlet and a brief history of the area. As we were headed to our next stop in Chinatown, we stopped in and viewed the Chineses garden. A very peaceful place in the middle of the city with a large Koy pound , benches and pathway. We then stopped for a smash burger at Between Two Buns Burgers. Again, a local eatery with great staff and varied selection of burgers, fries, beers and ciders. We had a cheeseburger with jalapeño and a regular cheeseburger. Next stop was for a beer/beverage at what as termed as a pop up. We were able to get a local wine or beer, which were a good sampling of local products. After taking the waterbus across inlet and a short walk around the sea wall, we finished off the tour with some gelato and then said our goodbyes. Brian explained different options for us to get back to our hotel, a very short walk, with different views depending on how you returned. We opted for a sea wall stroll, then over a bridge and back to the hotel. The rain had actually held off for our tour which made for a very nice day.

We had a great afternoon with Brian. He absolutely loves the city and enjoys sharing some of his favorite local spots with others. We may not have experienced these great places on our own. The coffee, cookie, burger, beer, ice cream and walk were all fantastic! We enjoyed learning more about Vancouver. Brian is an incredible host!

This was such a relaxing way to get to know Vancouver. I like the small group concept and Brian was an amazing host - both engaging and local knowledgeable. Food and drinks were great and the small group made for very engaging interactions. Truly more a local vibe than a tourist experience. Would recommend to anyone.
