Brian was extremely friendly and informative. We met in a local coffee shop, and then proceeded to a nearby rooftop where we munched on an unusual cookie while experiencing the panoramic views of Vancouver. We then walked around parts of Vancouver and visited a local park then onto a burger joint and finally ice cream. Enjoyable start to our vacation.

We had a great experience with our guide Brian. He was warm and easy to talk to, and knew Vancouver very well. We learned a lot about the city from him in addition to the food destinations we visited (which were spot on). He also gave us references and recommendations for places not on the tour and for the remainder of our time in Vancouver. We left the tour with a better understanding of Vancouver and its neighborhoods and history and that alone was worth the tour.

Today’s Local Taste Tour was a delight. My husband said that he wouldn’t change a thing. In about three hours, we ate so much and enjoyed learning so much local history. Starting with coffee (hot hibiscus tea for me) and fabulous chocolate chip cookies, we looked out over a top floor panoramic view of Vancouver. Brian showed us sites from each direction, and on this clear afternoon, we could even see Mt. Baker in the states. After walking through a secret Oriental garden with lore of its own, we enjoyed the best burger in the city— found in Chinatown! A walk along the seawall led us to a fabulous bar where we sat and enjoyed a drink. Next, we were off on a water taxi, our first trip on one, to the Olympic Park. We learned about that history and then found our way at the best ice cream shop in the city. After a sample or two, we settled on a flavor. Brian offered the best commentary as we walked and ate, and he took us to some great spots. We highly recommend Brian and any of his tours!

Brian was great! We loved learning about the non-touristy parts of Vancouver. Loved that the food was his opinion on the best burger in town, best cookie in town, best ice cream in town. The food was all amazing.

We had an excellent afternoon with Brian. He started our walking tour at the top of a 42 story building nearby, with an open air deck. Got our bearings about various landmarks in Vancouver and where we would ultimately be exploring. Brian knows so much about Vancouver and we really enjoyed his company and commentary! There were only 3 of us on the tour, so we could have lots of conversation with Brian as we walked to our destinations. Great food and beverages all around and definitely places we would not have discovered on our own. Burgers, cookies, ice cream, beer and cocktails!

Fantastic tour with a very knowledgeable guide who can tell you not only about the food but about the city, the sports, Canadian politics, and fun things to do during your stay. Some great views of the city and interesting non-food sites mixed in— I really felt like I was getting a city tour as well as a food tour, at least of the 3-4 neighborhoods be covered. Good ratio of walking to eating so that you were always just the right level of hungry for the next stop.
