Meet your guide at the entrance to the Vasa Museum and head straight past the ticket line to enter the museum together. Learn about the history of the Vasa warship while you explore the museum with your guide.
Start with details about the Swedish Empire and the war during which the ship was commissioned and discover how warnings about the ship's seaworthiness were ignored. Find out why the Vasa eventually sank on its maiden voyage, still within sight of the shipyard where it was constructed.
Then, listen as your guide explains how the ship was later found and ultimately salvaged. See the 19th-century maps used to locate the ship and hear about the engineering involved in salvaging the wreck. Leave your tour with a deeper understanding of the Vasa warship's history, everything that happened, and how the museum as it is today came to be.

It was an expensive round 1200 Skr for 2 people for 2 hours. We were there in good time (20 minutes before) but could not locate the guide, she was completely without a logo or other that showed she was a guide. It was only when I asked a group left outside that she went forward and presented herself. Booked an English tour but got an English/German guide. And it is obviously impressive that she can switch between 2 languages, but it meant that we got 1/2 tour, not always I discovered that she turned back to English so missed some of the story. The tour was also completed after about 1.5 hours. Not worth the money, and can NOT be recommended from here, take Vasas own guided tours that are included in the ticket.

Seeing the Vasa was incredible! What an amazing ship. The museum has created many different ways for visitors to learn about and appreciate the Vasa and its historical context. Fascinating!

My wife and I were at the Vasa Museum today and had booked a German-speaking tour. We were fortunate that we had our guide Daniela to ourselves and so enjoyed a very private tour. Daniela has described all the information about the Vasa, her fate and also about the history all around so grippingly that the two hours passed as if in flight. Her winning and sympathetic nature, as well as the expertise imparted was unique and can only be highly recommended.

Our guide Caoimhe (sounds like kwee-va) was absolutely incredible. She made the entire tour informative, engaging, and incredibly interested, even to our young girls. She was so good that another bloke tagged onto our group just to listen. High priase, and I hope she has success in whatever she does. She was a great guide!

The tour guide was a no show. I later saw that the tour had been changed to a different time. This was only stated on the Tripadvisor site, no email, no text. I'm still waiting for my refund.

I visited with Pedro, in Spanish, who has told us in detail everything about the Vasa. His passion for sailing is rating, which is a plus to understand why it sank, how it was sailed and the work to recover it. Highly recommended!

Our guide, Caoimhe was friendly and wonderful. Very knowledgeable and assured everyone stayed together and was able to hear her. She was on time and rounded everyone up to start the tour on time. I love that she texted us a picture and dropped a pin for the meeting place the morning of the tour so we felt comfortable meeting up. Definitely do this tour. The VASA is amazing.
