What To Expect

Vaxholms Fastnings Museum

Our guide will take you through the museum inside Vaxholm's Fortress (110 SEK entry included), where you will interact with history as you walk through its military quarters and learn about the story of the fortress. You will also go up a viewpoint tower to take in the beautiful God's view of the archipelago islands all around you (disclaimer: lots of steps and no lift for this part, so it's optional) Explore the grounds of the fortress, including the artillery and machine guns left from previous wars.

Vaxholm

You will be guided through the idyllic streets of Vaxholm, with its fishermen red house rows, cute little cafes and shops. You will head into the City Hall of Vaxholm and learn about how the city is run, and explore archipelago nautical heritage as it connects past and present history. You will also stop for a fika break at one of the most traditional pastry shops in the Stockholm archipelago.

This was one of the best tours I have taken and Frankie our guide was incredible ! Since first contact Frankie introduced herself and was very empathetic and clear with all the explanations . We were a group of 5 adults and 2 kids and she adapted immediately to our group even played with my daughters and made the trip the most enjoyable for all . The itinerary was great we visited the most important and interesting sites about the island , fortress , and enjoyed a great culinary experience . This tour is worth every penny and Frankie is the best !! This tour is a must do if you are in Stockholm !

Many thanks to our wonderful guide Loredana! In addition to the planned visits, she introduced us to many aspects of Sweden. Nice meeting. A rich, varied, well-paced excursion in a small group. For the first time in Stockholm, it was ideal!
