Our guide Alistare was fantastic! He brought to life the gardens and story told the tour from King Louis VIX to King Louis XVI and the revolution. It was so great for adults as well as my children. We were in no way rushed and were encouraged to ask questions. I was hesitant on taking this private group tour vs doing one of the actual palace and boy I’m so glad we did! I would highly recommend this exact tour and then do the Palace at your own pace! Do it!

I’m so glad we took this tour. I had been to Versailles twice before, but I got so much more out of it this time, with a knowledgeable guide. Even my teenage daughter had a great time. My favorite part of the tour was the hamlet. Not to be missed!

Alistair was our awesome guide. I am currently doing a Euro trip and out of the 4 tours I’ve been on so far.. this was my favorite and most well organized and thought out. From start to finish everything was seamless and stress free. He was a wonderful and informative story teller and really let us imagine what life was like back then. I enjoyed the walk through the gardens, queens apartments and planned stops and liked the fact that we did the palace on our own at the end. Perfect day. I would highly recommend this tour.

This tour of the Versailles Palace, Gardens and Hamlet was one the best tours I’ve ever been on and it was all thanks to our charming guide, Alistair. He manages to bring the gardens to life as he weaves the tale of how Versailles came to be. His enthusiasm and story telling skills almost felt like we were traveling back in time with him!! His knowledge of all things Versailles was incredible! He had plenty of stops for food and bathroom breaks and we never felt like he was rushing us. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes because there is a lot of walking!! One thing I didn’t realize is that Alistair does not tour the palace with you. However, he gave such a thorough description of it, it wasn’t a problem. The small group size was perfect too. I can’t say enough good things about this tour. You will not be disappointed and if you’re like our group, you will be sad to say goodbye to Alistair.
