Palace of Versailles
Time to discover the grandeur of the French monarchy. Originally a hunting lodge, King Louis XIII transformed the site into the iconic Versailles Palace and Gardens in the 17th century, now designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. As you skip the line with your guide to enter the palace, you'll discover over 2,000 rooms, each adorned with exquisite art and treasures, offering a glimpse into the opulence of the French royal court. This estate served as the epicenter of French power and luxury during the reign of King Louis XIV, who spared no expense in his pursuit of perfection. Your expert guide will share fascinating tales of the court's lavish lifestyle and the notorious scandals that rocked Versailles during its heyday. It was very well organized. Easy to fina the meeting point, they also helped with using the bathroom which was very helpful for my husband. Marianna was very well educated and very nice person. Was a pleasure to listen to her, impossible to lose as she had always her umbrella and repeated “follow my red umbrella”. I also like the idea with radio as it was easier to hear what the guide is telling. Overall it was a really good experience.

Melanie was a fantastic guide for our trip to the Palace of Versailles! She met us in Paris and helped us navigate the train to Versailles, making the journey effortless. Once at the palace, she stayed with our group the entire time, guiding us smoothly from room to room. Melanie is incredibly knowledgeable, super sweet, and made the experience both informative and enjoyable. I highly recommend her as your guide with the Tour Guy company!

For a first time visit we were underwhelmed with the Gardens and outside sights as it was considered "Winter" No: fountains, flowers, Canvas wrapped around numerous ??? (were they statues, planters, etc.) disappointing. We toured inside early... very crowded ! Hours later it was packed ! Our guide was the very best ! Spot on with the History Lesson ! Transportation went well !

As with all tours involving great moments of history, there was a lot to take in. Our guide Julian had exceptional knowledge and delivered it in any easy to understand, naturally flowing style. The Palace of Versailles is a beautiful building and each room as it unfolds, more stunning than the last. Having a guide who is very passionate about art helped one’s appreciation of the great works displayed on the walls and ceilings. I found the nods to both Greek and Roman art and history particularly interesting. We didn’t spend too much time in the garden but we’re lucky enough to see the display of one of the fountains at 2pm. Definitely worth a visit. One thing to make sure of before you go is to check the name of the train station you leave from, as you are on your own for the return journey, and that way you will know when to get off.
