Nice train, house tour and rum tour, but for 2 adults and a 3 year old, on a guided tour, cost £130 pounds. This feels like too high a price for the tour. Plus we had a diesel train rather than a steam one, which lowered the charm level.

I just loved it. The train ride was well worth doing and the house and distillery really interesting. So much history. What a lovely guy Simon is, so cheeky and endearing. He obviously enjoys his role. My second visit and I will go again whenever I next visit. I came away with a bottle of rum last time and rum punch this time.

A wonderful day out away from the resorts and crowds. The train ride is a bit of fun with enjoyable live commentary. The house tour is great as is the food and gift shop. You can sit for a meal or have a quick sandwich. The sugar mill tour was an added bonus and the list of the enslaved sobering.

An amazing place, with lots of history. Guides were very knowledgable and gave the history in an engaging way. We did a the rum tasting, house tour and railway ride, ticket was good value. Definitely worth a visit, and some really good rum!

St Nicholas Abbey is a fascinating and beautiful destination in Barbados. Still fully operational rum plantation and distillery as well as the highly touristic but also authentic steam railway to Cherry Tree Hill. Despite the crowds coming by bus in the high season it was a pleasure to visit. Very nice and also fairly quiet lunch was possible in the Terrace Café of the Abbey.

But it was well underway... We had the first start. Too bad the guide talks so much that we don’t listen anymore. Too bad the engine exhaust is so short that the throttle benefits the passengers. Too bad that the stop with a splendid view is actually a tourist catch. Too bad the second round is irrelevant Too bad the tour of the house is in groups of more than 30 Too bad the guide talks so much, even to talk about trees, in a distillery! Too bad the visit to the distillery comes down to almost nothing. Too bad you will be made to taste white rum, without fragrance, after the 5 years of age...!!! Too bad the restaurant is unable to take an order and serve... We're gone!

The train ride was great , the steam engine had mechanical issues and was replaced with a 1971 diesel It was still well worth a visit The only letdown was the cafe 1* only

We had a great time today. We learned about the history of the 440 acre plantation and the rub making history along with the sugar cane fields, train, plantation and the beautiful house at the people that built it. We took the trade ride and enjoyed the Vista from on top of cherry tree Hill. The staff were very pleasant and you could tell they enjoyed their jobs.
