Touring St. Nicholas Abbey was the highlight. Virginia, the guide, was excellent and it was evident how much she enjoys her job and her boss with her enthusiasm. She was incredibly knowledgeable and the house was fascinating! Our only issue is that it was confusing in selecting the train and the house tour in that our train ride was very truncated.

An enjoyable ride in an old spark engined carriage. The guide was outstanding, giving the history of the plantation as well as the railway. The house was small, but full of bajan history, having a commentary from our guide which was clear and easily understandable. We were also shown the rum distillery, the production of the bottles from 5 years to 40 in strength. We were treated to a sampling of both the white rum and 5 year rum ….. very interesting and tasty. The gift shop was small yet packed with easily priced goods - this was a plaesure as so often the gift shops in other places takes a larger site than the workshops. Well done management. We ate at the small restaurant, with food which was easy and enjoyable, well run by the staff. This whole experience was first rate.

An enjoyable trip on the train through the grounds with spectacular views up Cherry Tree Hill. The tour round the house and rum tasting was informative, if a little quick. Worth the money though,

The entire experience yesterday was a 10+ experience and is now an unforgettable beautiful memory in my 3 generation family’s hearts. The entry to parking lot, washroom cleanliness, great food & drinks in restaurant, history boards to read while waiting for train departure, the entire steam train experience with a conductor that told amazing history stories with some humour, photo ops and lots of stops on our 75 minute train ride. The beautiful scenery and flora, the suspension bridge crossover, the stop at cherry tree hill to shop and/or take photos with a view of the east coast of the island. The workmanship to adding this attraction to the island experience and the years of building and extending the railway, the blasting of the coral for the train track to continue to make it feel like you were traveling thru a canyon like the wild Wild West was unforgettable. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the beautiful island of Barbados and its beautiful super friendly people. 💕🚂🇧🇧🇨🇦

place on the ticket that includes the train tour and the house tour and upon arrival at the site indicate that the ticket is only for the train tour and that you must pay 100 dollars more. this is misleading advertising.

The experience with the old train and the story were very interesting and would be wonderfully conveyed by the guide. However, it said on the ticket + Great House Tour, which unfortunately was not included in the price. Unfortunately, it's a shame.
