The CAT travels between Vienna International Airport and Wien-Mitte station every thirty minutes from early morning to late at night, 365 days a year. What To Expect
Enjoy convenient and cost-effective shared transport between Vienna International Airport (VIE) and Wien-Mitte Train Station aboard the City Airport Train. After arriving at Vienna International Airport, follow the green signs to the CAT City Airport Train. In just 16 minutes on the double-decker train, arrive at Wien Mitte - Landstraße railway station with direct connection to the underground line in Vienna (U3/U4). City Check-In Passengers can already check in their baggage with selected airlines at the City Air Terminal within the railway station Wien-Mitte and get their boarding passes. The City Air Terminal offers all the services of an international airport terminal with both manned check-in desks and self service check-in kiosks. This service is available from 24 hours until 75 minutes before departure.

3.00We didn’t realize public transit would have been nearly as fast and about 1/3 the cost. That said we bought a return ticket and used a discount so it wasn’t too bad. The service was excellent and train was clean.

4.00The CAT service provides a quick, safe journey to and from the airport. Easy transfer to the ubahn. Friendly staff. The local trains are much cheaper so catch them if you can.

3.00Non-stop connection between the airport and Wiener Mitte station. The OBB tracks are used, but because the swimming companies are different, it is expensive at an extra cost. The decision is whether to choose nonstop convenience or price.

Need an elevator … don’t use the CAT

2.00If you need an elevator due to mobility issues, a stroller or just lots of luggage that skip the CAT from the airport. The elevator does not work and apparently has not worked for 3 months!

1.0027 minute wait for a train at 1.40 PM does not make this a fast or even very convenient way to get to airport. Cost at nearly €15 one way makes a taxi for two much better value.
