Slow paced walk in the city with some story telling we have forgotten after we came back home. The city is beautiful but something was missing, maybe the warmth of the locals? They charge you for everything, even for the tap water and the toilet. Long lines, you need to wait for hours in the cold. Wonder how guides can be proud of the mentality of the people...

We enjoyed our walk in the city with our guide who was friendly and knowledgeable. Quite cold in December though, and the city overcrowded. Next time we will visit when warmer.

We took this tour with Maria on our first full day in Vienna and it was a very helpful start to our trip. She was friendly and energetic, shared just the right amount of Vienna and Austrian history to help us understand our surroundings and the culture without boring the teenagers. Lastly, we benefitted from great restaurant and coffee shop tips that helped us throughout our trip.

Too much information at each corner, can feel a bit stressful if you dont know history so well. The tour was well paced and we finished on time.

Our guide Kim was very smart and cool. Also the first two bars are the best cause it feels like you’re drinking at someone’s house.

This tour was absolutely wonderful! Maria not only showed us the highlights of beautiful Vienna, but she added tips that locals know to help us enjoy our time in Vienna even more, restaurants, the Christmas Markets, districts etc. Her genuine warmth was so appreciated, she obviously loves her city and showing it to travellers. Thank you Maria!!

This tour is a great introduction to Vienna. Maria is an excellent tour guide. So knowledgeable and passionate about Vienna. She also gave us a few recommendations where to eat that the locals go to. Beisl where we tried Wiener schnitzel. Figolettas for great Italian food. Oh and the Bitzinger Wurstelstand for brats.

This is an excellent walking trip with Maria. We have done many in Europe but this was one of the best. Maria is such a nice friendly person and her knowledge as a former Vienna history student and Vienna resident must be second to none. She speaks great English having stayed in Scotland for 3 years and has a good loud (friendly) voice which is easy to hear and understand. The group size was 9 which was very good. Five Dutch, two Canadians and us, perfect. Maria says she does not have groups of more than 10 so all can be involved and hear well. She was 20 minutes early at the meeting point and easy to find. The walking tour covered the main historical centre and many hidden gems and was well paced and never boring. She had pictures to add background. She also advised on places to eat that the locals go to, the best Christmas markets with a map and advice on other places to go. You just had to ask and she seemed to know everything whether to do with the tour and sites, history or Vienna in general. She also brought along homemade punch in a flask which was lovely and warm along with some local chocolates. The tour started at 10am and ended close to 12.30 at St Stephens cathedral. We did finally catch her out as the only thing she didn’t know was about the hit song Vienna by the band Ultravox who filmed some of the video in Vienna. By chance we happened to see her the next day and she had read up on it and said she would add it to her tour! She then gave us some more advice for our day ahead. Wonderful. If you plan to do a walking tour in Vienna we would highly recommend this one with Maria.
