So much rich British history in one place

3.00My husband and I thought our tour was the previous day, so we had already toured it on our own, but this VIP small group tour was worth the extra cost. We learned so much about British history and specific things about the Tower that we didn't find when we did a self-guided tour. Our tour guide, John, was a good story teller and the Tower of London seems to be THE place where a lot of British history happened. Everyone on our tour was from the US, so it was mostly new information for us. We met at Starbucks at 8:45am. The Tower opens to the public at 10am, but we were able to enter early (along with many other guided tours). I'd rather not have to be somewhere at 8:45am on a vacation trip, but it was worth it to visit with smaller crowds. Unfortunately, John was sick with a cold. We tried to keep our distance. John took a picture of us with my husband's cellphone. He used sanitizing gel immediately after, but that wasn't enough apparently. He caught a cold the next day and it ruined the final days of our vacation in London. Side note: Don't count on the beefeater yeoman tour if the weather is bad. The beefeater tours were cancelled on the day we visited on our own due to rain.

5.00Our tour started early at 8:45 am which was great because we missed all the long lines to see the Crown Jewels. Our guide Ben was great and his puns were spot on lol. We had a meet and greet with a Beefeater. Nev was great, very nice, and answered all of our questions and we even took photos together. I highly recommend this tour with Ben.
